[BUG] UI will occasionally update some elements with Chinese text. As you scroll and the UI updates the text on various items will flip back and forth. Only happens in this window.

This happened to me the first week the game released and I recently went back and it still happens lol
The part that is curious to me, is that it works fine for you in a virtual environment running on the problematic host even after reinstalling windows. Wish I could help further, have tried raising this one to the Developers despite it being posted in our bug report channel already.
More information:
System:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9820X CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.31 GHz
RAM: 64.0 GB (63.7 GB usable)
Windows 10 Pro 21H1
Wind 10 Build ID: 19043.1415
Win 10 FEP ID: 120.2212.3920.0
Notes:
Only ever happens on the last two items of the production window. Regardless of scrolling or what the actual items are.
Going back through earlier save files the bug did NOT exist until I did the massive expand during and after green science nearly quintupling the number of events per tick.
Happened around 230 hours of run time.
Again. Ultimately no big deal. Just throwing my info in the pile.
First bug I've had in playing and it's not exactly a big deal.
Just figured I'd mention it in case anyone else had seen it.
Latest steam version. No mods.
Developers are chinese, guessing this is some of the original text breaking through.
Some musings with a general understanding but without the source code or any training in whatever language this is written in.
Having opened the code with dnSpy to play at modding in the past, I recall seeing functions/methods/whatever that appear to be programmatically translating error messages from Chinese.
[At the time I google-translated them to see what they were because I was curious.]
I would wager that something similar is happening, and occasionally failing to happen, here.
I would in turn wager, perhaps because I like to diagnosticize, that the problem is maybe the translation function running asynchronously.
Perhaps rather than returning something distinct, the translation function is modifying the variable it received and that variable has yet to be updated before being displayed.
Just a small glitch in the matrix...nothing to see here...
I've had this too. It's wasn't a huge deal for me either since just scrolling would fix it, and it's just the same two words anyways lol
I almost thought it was intentional for aesthetics or something haha
