On Letting Go

The city lights of October

after walking you home—

I'll remember them,

as much as I'd like to forget.

Simple but savory

I love small poems. Personally they always make me think more. That last line is brilliant and so ambiguous. Makes the whole piece

Totally agree. The first few lines set up this cozy and intimate atmosphere, which the last interrupts with a question mark. Just makes me think on how life is sort of like this poem. We know of and hear snippets of another's story, but what we know is often short and inadequate to paint the whole picture. In a beautiful way, we're the only ones who wholly understand our experiences.

It’s amazing how such little can say so much. The imagery is so strong with this one although you have sparingly used words . Great job !

I don't know how to critique four lines, because I enjoyed it a lot. Especially how well the title fits with the actual poem; I feel like a lot of titles are disjointed and end up bringing the poem down as a whole. Good job.

This poem is really shocking to me, I have never felt so much in so few lines. Thank you for sharing your poem, I wish you all the best.

Very short but paints a fantastic picture. The last line also leaves a lot for interpretation and allows the reader to assign their open life experience to it. Well done.
