Enlightened Equipment Revelation toggle position - help me move it
I really like my EE Revelation quilt. I don't want to make a whole new quilt, though I might someday. What I HATE about this quilt is the fact they put the toggle for the drawcord right in the middle of the top of the quilt, so the thing smacks you in the face at night and the cord feels like a frickin snake or bug is on your face when it gets out of place. WHY did they do this????? WHY IS IT IN THE MIDDLE?
I want to modify my quilt by moving the toggle off to one of the sides, or putting two toggles off to either side... but I'm new to this MYOG world so I'm not sure how to proceed. Has anyone else solved this problem or have any ideas? I've looked through archives but haven't seen this specific problem solved....
Cheers all

They do that because that is the easiest place to put it. An offset location is possible, but requires two different length cords or a channel sewn into a seam to keep it out of the user's face.
I wonder if you could hand sew a button or toggle into the quilt somewhere. Pull that draw cord tight, then put the excess behind the button/toggle.
I"ve been puzzling over this. Would it require two different length cords? As it is now, the cord spans from end to end of the "neck" with a break in the seam channel in the middle, where the cord emerges to contain the toggle, which can be pressed and the cord pulled thru.
I'm wondering if I could cut a small cut in the left side of "neck" or end of the quilt where it would create the head/neck seal, about 6" from the far left. Then, cut the cord at the same point. Pull the cord out all the way to the middle, removing it from the toggle. Then, feed the cord back through that open seam channel, to the left side "cut" I've just made. Feed both loose ends thru the toggle at that new opening. Tie the loose ends, thru the toggle, in a tight knot.
That way I could pull the cords thru the button toggle to tighten up the whole neck, as before, but the excess cordage would be off to one side.
Wouldn't this work?
