Can You Make Me Beautiful?

Can you make me thinner,

My stomach flatter

And my bum thicker?

I'm not asking for much,

Just an extra cup size or two,

And a softer jawline,

With thicker lips

And wider hips.

It's not much,

But if you do,

They will say I'm beautiful

And it will be true.

True to who?

He asks,

It won't be true to you.

What is real is beautiful

And you look exactly like you're supposed to do.

Inspired by a quote by Nicolas Boileau from L’Art Poetique (The art of Poetry) “Only what is true is beautiful.” Referencing this, I didn’t mean that people who choose to alter themselves aren’t beautiful, but that they are beautiful in spite of that. As it is what makes us real, true, and human, that makes us beautiful.
