U6 issue with Roku TV

Question

I had one U6 and one AC-Lite which worked perfectly fine with all devices, I just wanted to make it the same and have Wifi6 throughout the house, so I got another U6. As soon as I swapped it out, the one Roku TV we have started having issues with slow internet and Plex in particular going "Offline".

Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? Are there any settings I can adjust to make it work better? I messed around with channels a bit on both WAPs but nothing seemed to help. I switched back to the U6 and AC-Lite and it started working perfectly again.

Did you try reconnecting the roku tv to your internet? Like if wireless take off network and re add it?

Yeah did a network reset on the Roku TV which did not make a difference. I have the 2.4gzh and 5ghz all on one SSID which has not been a problem before switching. Once I switched back to the AC-Lite it just started working again with no issues. Super strange

Hmm sounds almost like the same issue I have had with my roku tv and my u6 lites. It just wouldn’t connect and then after 3 months which was dec I re added it to my network and it just started to work again. It’s on a 2.4 and 5ghz all in one ssid.

Which firmware are you on? I did update when I connected the U6

I’m on firmware 5.60.19 because the latest seems to be very buggy as of https://community.ui.com/releases/UAP-Firmware-5-60-23/c86f5a53-e065-44c4-b281-0ae18d460aa0

Do you have access point roaming on? If you look at the topology map, does the Roku appear to be connected to the other access point?

Yes roaming is on, it has moved to the new AP as of yesterday. When it was connected to the older U6 it seemed OK, but last night it moved to the new one and it had buffering issues again. Very strange. It is connected to the 5ghz band

Update: I found this on the Ubiquiti forums from someone else that had similar issues to me, changing the antenna power to 10 dBm for 2G and 17 dBm for 5G did the trick so far. Everything working great since that change, I'll update if anything changes.

just wanted to say thanks. this one roku tv has been driving me crazy with the same setup (u6 lite and u6lr) and only the roku tv was behaving weird, certain apps wouldn’t even work. changing the power settings to this worked
