Abolish work as a whole or abolish the need for human labour? Both a very different things.
Work is defined as forced labour by Bob Black.
The moment human labour / waging has been rendered optional for one's survival - because of, say a livable Universal Basic Income - then work has been abolished.
I feel like this meme doesn't have a meaningful target if that's the context. It should be opposed to a liberal concerned about our production compared to the rest of the world. Communists and socialists don't believe in capitalized work either
OK, but what if everyone didn't want to do labour? Who would pay your UBI? I'm sure you can see how this would quickly become a race to the bottom.
Obviously the slaves will.
ofc we know that
I didnt know it was only Anarcho Feminists that wanted to abolish it though, its a common goal of every leftist Anarchist. I just see this post as useless infighting, when it should be capitalism thats targeted.
Yeah us Leftist love to disagree with each other. But yeah Human should not be defined by their productivity. Creativity should not be commodified.
im talmbout me and op
I just see this post as useless infighting, when it should be capitalism thats targeted.
not only capitalist society but any involuntary union in general
even "anarchist" society would have a potential to domesticate us and enable industrialization especially with workers owning the means of production...
also im not a leftist
My definition of Working Class is anyone that don't own the mean of production. That include retired groups of people and Children.
Obvious bias, but why is a syndie/ancom the target here? Antiwork is a strong viewpoint within both those ideologies, why start anarchist infighting over nothing?
Yeah I could understand an authoritarian version of syndicalism or maybe Marxism but not anarchist Philosophies
why start anarchist infighting over nothing?
you sit around a campfire made of old IKEA furniture scraps, eating warm but long-expired spaghetti-o's out of a rusty can
"Ah yes child, the Great Question. It is told among our people that in the before time, many pondered this and discussed it with great fervour for many years... that is of course, until the Bezoclones and their accursed weaponized barcode scanners blotted out the sun before they shrink-wrapped & palletized most of humanity. We may never know the answer to that ancient mystery..."
You wonder what the before times were like (and what a "barc ode scanner" is), if the Left Unity guy in the tales is actually real and if he's really going to come save you from the Bezoclones someday like the prophecy says. Then these child's tales fade from your mind as you take another skewer of Magenta Deer meat from the grill. The color is a perfectly normal glowing fuschia but wing flaps are kinda dry.
This feels like a mix of The Matrix and SCP 3008
I fuckin love it lol
💀💀💀💀
Had you used literally any other colour combination but the one of the anarchy movement for the wojak, it would have made sense.
I’d say egoism may be best but I’m failing to think of one where it’s a massive part (if we include labour in general not just work)
Communists and socialists are absolutely not opposed to the end of capitalized labor and do favor being able to survive without waged jobs
postie gang my brotherrsss
silly anarcho societists heheh
Most jobs could be automated, only a few occupations would require a labor force so the majority of people wouldn’t have to work. But this will ofcourse never happen under capitalism because it would collapse the economy because people wouldn’t have money due to them losing their jobs which will collapse the system. Capitalism is an old outdated system that needs replacement.
Honest question: if we dont work, how do we keep things like servers, farms or so running? And how does this world function? Videos are very appreciated. :)
abolish work doesn’t mean abolish labor. we can restructure how labor is carried out and give freedom and a say in their work to laborers. the workplace is a capitalist construct where workers are stripped of dignity and freedom and are forced to submit for survival. labor should be done willingly. people should be able to do something they’re passionate in without worrying about making a living. laborers should be able to set their schedule and have any accommodations they need in order to be able to labor. the exact way things are structured can be different from place to place depending on community needs and abilities. its just about completely restructuring how communities produce and consume.
Thank you very much!
To add onto what they say, if education is carried out as a right as well as providing more than just the basic necessities, jobs that absolutely require a person to work can be filled by an influx of people not bogged down by capitalist and material barriers. I.g. I dont really see doctor or medical jobs being automated soon, but if more people were allowed to become doctors then they won't have to work as long since the labor is distributed amongst everyone. And then whatever can be automated like cashiering or whatever will mean that that is one less job that needs a worker allowing us to focus our resources on more important jobs.
fuck farms they are slavery
Farming in of itself is not slavery, farmers being paid far less than a living wage for their labor because they are undocumented workers is slavery. Fuck factory farming though, animals shouldn’t be kept in cages and treated horribly even if they’ll be eaten by people.
domesticating them is horrible enough
Not gonna argue with you on that because vegans are right about how all the land used for food products that are used to feed these animals could be used more efficiently by just growing crops to eat instead and how the meat industry is one of the biggest contributors to global warming.

Who's gonna keep your crunchyroll servers running and deliver your tendies?
they wont
Yeah, you're right. Just wanted to get it out there
Ideology.
Didn't really answer the question.
The first few paragraphs do, but I'll spell it out for you.
Not all labour is work. Work is forced/coerced labour
lmao
Anarchists can never answer this.
i can
noooo!!!! we have to reform work !!!! join r/workreform bro trust me bro it's totally not ran by a canadian bank !!!
You can definitely just reform a broken system trust me bro we aren't neoliberals
“Capitalism is actually good for the working class” 🤡
Better than communism.
