The Power of Speech

Oh, the joy one nice word can bring to you.

No matter how plain or simple it be.

One compliment can cause a rosy hue.

Though the affects you may not always see.

It does not have to mean that much to you,

Still it can change any person's whole day.

Seek to bring joy in whatever you do.

There is so much power in what you say.

In the same you can bring one down so quick.

Harsh words though may last longer than a day.

If it be one small thing or vile trick,

The wounds now formed may never be okay.

How great the affect you may not now know,

But this I assure you one day will show.
