Post nasal drip/dry mouth?

Hey all. I started Wellbutrin for adhd about two weeks ago. Since I started I have had AWFUL dry mouth and post nasal drip. I have been taking maximum strength mucinex, but it just constantly feels like I have a big lump of something caught in my throat, and I’m thirsty all the time. It’s like the maximum amount of mucinex isn’t even working. I don’t know what else to do. Any suggestions??

Yeah I had that in the beginning but it got better w time, recommend cough drops and maybe saline solution for your nose if you’re into that

How long did it last for you? It’s driving me crazy

Gosh I really can’t remember but I feel like I’m general bad side effects should alleviate within a month. Are you on 150? Also tea might help or some products for dry mouth? Dk where you are but I tend to have similar issues in the winter anyway

Nvm I see you said 2 weeks I’d give it another 1-2 if you can stand it if it really doesn’t improve maybe talk to your doc

That’s good that it only lasted about a month for you. I’m on 150, yeah. And I’m in Alabama so it never gets dry here. I bought some dry mouth rinse that seems to be helping a little. And I figured mucinex since it thins mucous and all of this feels really thick. Maybe Sudafed would be better?

Yeah Sudafed could dry you out tho. I’d maybe try Advil for the soreness and try the tea. Honey and lemon can be good for throats too. I hope it alleviates soon bc Wellbutrin can be so helpful!

also I’m not sure about muncinex for that issue

I’ve personally just been drinking a lot of water. I’m going to get some gum to help ease side effect. I try not to eat foods that will make me thirsty like sugary stuff or really dry foods. It also helps just to consistently be drinking water throughout the day(helps thin mucous and produce saliva.

I’ve been doing the same!

Good news y’all! My side effects are MUCH better in the last few days. I still have some dry mouth, but nowhere near the extent that it was

I mean musinex is incredibly drying.

Wait are you for real? Everything I was reading said it doesn’t dry you out, guaifenesin loosens everything up.

Hmm I thought it did, cause that has been my experience. But I could be wrong!
