Does suboxone trigger PWD if you're not actively addicted?

I am a chronic pain patient, have 30+ days clean, and was completely clear of any withdrawal symptoms (sleep was back, no noticeable PAWs).

I took a dirty 30 last night due to a severe pain flare-up. I feel "fine" this morning (besides the pain). I am in dire need of pain relief and all I have on hand to deal with it is suboxone until I'm able to see my pain doctor on Friday.

Would I still get PWD if I was to take suboxone today as I'm no longer physically addicted to anything?

E: To update anyone who finds this thread in the future, I induced Suboxone at 0.1mg per dose every 20 minutes and encountered no PWD and got the much needed pain relief.

I’d wait days after having good used a dirty 30. Did you take it?

Yep. I took a tiny (0.1mg) every 30 minutes and was totally fine. Since I’m not actively addicted I did not experience any PWD.

Thanks much. The little bit of the suboxone is enough to take the edge off! And it’s not really producing much of a “buzz” and not feeling any desire to take more to get one. Only three weeks left to my surgery, I’ll make it.

Since you have a dirty thirty in your system, which most likely has fent in it, you might have to wait another day or two for it to clear out so you don't go into PWD. Fent has a ridiculously long half life even if you don't feel it's effects anymore. It sucks, but is sucks less than PWD.

You could try taking a small amount of the subs (like 1mg) and see how if affects you. Some people are able to do it without going into PWD, but that's a risk vs reward only you can decide on.

Thanks. I was completely clean off everything so not sure how it works.

In the past in similar situations where I was clean for an extended period of timec I have taken fent in the morning and then LOw Dose Naltrexone at night without issue so was wondering if Suboxone would be a similr deal.

If you’re not physically dependent on full agonists then taking a sub will not put you in precipitated withdrawals.
