Ouray in march?
How is ouray for ice climbing in mid-march? How late in the season can you have decent ice conditions there?

Mid march is a little late, not ideal climbing conditions, but not a total shut out either

Yeah I’ve once done ice in upstate NY. Would love to hit ouray sometime, but I know it’s not like skiing where the slopes are frequently good up to early April. If it’s likely hit or miss in ice quality I might make another season.

The ice park closes around mid March. Backcountry routes could still be in, but no way to know this far out.

I'd be pretty worried about it this year with how mild this winter has been.

The park often closes by then. Just depends on the year.
Me a few buddies tried going right before it opened this year, sucks that it was a late start
