A hangout or a date?

A date, I decide, and hope I’m right

But no hug, no kiss

Just a speedy “goodnight”

Was it something I said?

Where did I go wrong?

Did I come on too weak?

Did I come on too strong?

As I drive back home

Pouring rain blurs my view

​

I’m not really surprised,

But I’m disappointed, it’s true

​

I drop my keys on the table

And slump back in my chair

​

Then my phone vibrates

I run a hand through my hair

​

“Hey I had fun”

With a smiley face at the end

​

The rain outside slows

​

At least I have a friend
