Valentine’s Day

A day of forever and always
One of passion and craze
But some choose to look sideways

A day of unrequited love
One of hawks rather than doves
Many rather get rid of

Some may cringe
Some tap away on hinge
Some drown their sorrows in a vodka orange

It’s not serene
Or like a dream
Valentine’s Day is just a corporate scheme
