Atletico Madrid
Athletic Bilbao
This is gonna be a confusing final for dyslexics.
Just say Madrid vs Bilbao. They'll know you're talking about the real Madrid anyway, not that fak...wait a minute. Oh God...
I hope this will lead to a fairer distribution for the TV money in Spain.
(Edit for Awful English)
I hope so too, but I'm not holding my breath. Unfortunately, the big two are too strong and won't give in.
This will have 0 effect. The only thing that would work is if all the 18 other teams the league just decide to boycott Madrid and Barcelona. Then they will find out that they cannot exist without competition.
This will of course tell the other top clubs around europe that teams which feel, justly i might add, that they want more money can just up and quit.
I give it 3 weeks after that before the announcement of the European Super League.
The European super league that was always talked about was an alternative to the Champions League not to the domestic leagues. Forming such a league would be completely infeasible the idea that it would ever form is ridiculous, it would mean that 20 clubs from 5 different countries would have to agree to play together and all break away from their won leagues simultaneously. This will quite simply never happen.
Why not?
A super league makes no sense if you already have domestic league commitments. 38 games in 42 weeks without counting cup games is no laughing matter.
And why would they not be able to form one? Its not like the top 20 teams would hurt for the cash to transport their players around like 5-6 countries in Europe.
Now would the ESL work? That I highly doubt. It might look good for 1, 5, or even 10 years but its not like it solves any problems. It would just move the club poverty line.
We kicked one of the Europa League finalists off Copa del Rey and we're kicked off by the other one.
WE ARE THE AXIS OF THE WORLD!
Come on, don't be so bacín :)
congratulations to atlhetic bilbao, great goal in the final minutes by llorente. they'll have a tough time against atletico in the final, though. good luck!
Both teams are strong, and it's going to be a great final!
I suspect it will be an even more open and attacking match than the CL final.
9000 tickets for both clubs, in a 50.000 seater stadium.
Fuck modern football.
Jesus Christ, really? I know it's bad for all finals, but this proportionally seems like the worst I've ever heard.
Absolutely, absolutely stunning game of football. Bilbao continue to astonish. :D
What time is the final in Pacific Time?
You should pay attention to the goalkeeper for Atletico Madrid, Courtois. Chelsea got a great up and coming talent there and I expect to see him on the Chelsea goal-line in a year or two.
He asked what time is the final in Pacific Time, I can't help but upvote your gloriously irrelevant reply
haha i figured it out, kickoff is at 11.45 AM on the 19th. Pacific Time! Can't wait.
5 of the 8 teams in the European cups semi-finals are from the SPL... Most have been saying EPL is the strongest championship, maybe not... ?
5 of the teams were Scottish?
Vastly underrated league.
Apparently so.
:)) Not sure why I tried to call it the Spanish Premier League...

The question is...Who is playing the home kit?
Because Bilbao's away is just horrible.
It may not look good on TV, but Athletic's away kit reflect the colours of the Basque flag.
Atlético de Madrid is local for the final
Damn it!
Btw, congrats on your performance, gonna be a hell of a thrilling game!
thanks :) We hope the final to be a show of the Spanish "Otra Liga". There are more things than just Real Madrid and Barcelona here.
There are? The media in my country says that Real and Barca are the only teams in the whole Europe. God i hate the press here.
We know, we know...
Bilbao's away kit is brilliant!

Relevant
Everybody forgets now that match last Saturday in which both teams fought very hard until the end for La Liga.
Chelsea and Bayern reserved his players.
Meh, Chelsea played Arsenal on Saturday and Bayern played Werder Bremen on Thursday.
On a side note, I just found this
Which in hindsight, is wicked funny
