never ever heard about moon knight
What makes it even better is remembering that the HOTD teaser was released on a random day with zero warning while the LOTR teaser was shown during the Superbowl.

I wonder what caused those HotD January spikes when there was no news.
I need better date labels on this: what caused that big Moon Knight spike, was that the Super Bowl or the week before the Super Bowl? Because there were TWO big spikes for LOTR: but was the second one the Super Bowl? What are the dates on this?
It looks like it could be after GRRM said he watched the rough cut of the first episode and enjoyed it. He said that in late December, so it would make sense for there to be a spike in early January.
The big Moon Knight spike is for the first trailer released in Jan. The first LotR spike is when they revealed the official title and the next is for the first look and the Super Bowl teaser.
No idea about HoTD though.
Maybe it’s also a fantasy show so it’s competition
Isn't it like, set in the modern day
Ah. Super bowl didn’t boost moon knight that much but then again it wasn’t a substantially new trailet
That was elected as the most anteciped series of year acording to IMDb and other pages
Agreed. This picture is close to worthless as is.
Lol rop got ratiod by backlash
To no one's surprise 😌
Is Moon Knight suppose to be good? LOTR is probably good but surely it has a lot of backstory from previous movie installments and what not and I simply never took the time to watch them. I'm going to skip over that. But what say on Moon Knight?

Where’s February? The teaser for LoTR was released in Feb, not in January.
it’s there. check the dates next to “worldwide”
I’ve commented this before and I’ll comment it again: it’s gonna suck being a Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings fan this year because of this dumb, idiotic, useless rivalry
Yup. Who fucking cares. I will enjoy or hate both regardless of comparison.
I’m gonna watch both shows and I’ll probably enjoy both of them. I’ll also likely have a preference but who cares?
People need to just enjoy things without tearing other things down. Like, if something is legitimately bad I’m all for criticizing it, but this is a big yikes.
I am fucking sick to death of seeing these posts comparing ratings and views to other shows. No one cares, honestly. Can't we just keep this sub to talking about THIS show, regardless what any other show does. This show has nothing to prove and people need to stop scratching around for idiotic comparisons like this to make themselves feel better. Please, for the love of fuck let's stop this.
Mods can we have a rule please? Comparisons are dumb
But why even just care about the rivalry, if you ever meet someone irl who is like that just say you like both and dont understand the need for a rivalry. It will just make them look stupid because thats what they are lol
Do you think there's a chance HBO will release HOTD at the same time as the Rings of Power (starting in September)? If so, the rivalry discourse would be even more amplified.
I could definitely see them competing with each other. This is the streaming wars after all
Are you going to watch both?
Oh of course. Middle-Earth and A Song of Ice and Fire are two of my favorite IPs.
In a situation like this, we the consumers win for getting two (hopefully) awesome shows.
The thing is that neither would be on the same night. Lord of the Rings on Friday and House of Dragon on Sunday so they aren't quite completely competing with the other.
I think they will compliment each other. Can't wait til the next episode of (insert fantasy series)? Sign up for (other streaming service) to watch (other fantasy show) and catch also enjoy (insert other TV shows).
Not only that but both communities have people who absolutely INSIST it will bomb and it will suck.
Preach. These fans are so petty. LoTR’s fans don’t give a shit about HotD yet people here are always talking about RoP. So annoying.
