Lol, I like how at the end they notice you watching and are like "shit, we've been found out, scatter and act natural." Then proceed to jump around in unison lol

ROFL I didn't even realize they were jumping in unison that's amazing XD

I don't think I've seen anyone actually attempt mirror inputs on multibox, this is hilarious lol

Looks like a multiboxer. Which isn't technically against TOS on its own, but they way they're clearly having sinlge key presses affect both accounts at the same time would be against TOS.

jojo_iso•

Anet has officially said this usage of multi-boxing is against TOS if I'm not mistaken. Something about "a single key press = a single action".

30
Shufflepants•

Multi-boxing just refers to having multiple accounts logged in at the same time being operated by a single person. This is not against TOS. As I tried to explain, what is against TOS is when you use a tool or something to make so when you press a key to make a character do something it also makes other characters do the same thing. This part is against TOS, and does appear to be what the person depicted in the video is doing. It's not against TOS to just have two computers in front of you, each running a copy of GW2 and then operating both with a mouse in each hand or whatever.

33
jojo_iso•

That's what I meant by this usage of multi-boxing.

1†
sdebeli•

Multiboxing in the sense of one input multiple boxes receiving it is against TOS.

On the other hand just having multiple open game instances and alt tabbing is TOS compliant.

2
hannes3120•

I really don't understand why it isn't against the TOS though

Isn't it standard in every single MMO?

I know that I was really surprised when I stumbled upon my first afk-multibox-farmer and found out that that's completely legal within the TOS

6
Shufflepants•

All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. The player in the video is a square.

It's not against TOS to have multiple copies of the game running. It's only against TOS to use a special tool to let you have one key press do multiple things (like controlling more than one character at a time). And that's what it looks like this player is doing. It's however not against TOS to just run multiple clients and like, operate one with one hand and one with the other.

LordborgmanCele Firebrand, Read A Book Motherfucker•

I didn't afk multi-box, or run scripts. But I did multi-box 2 toons for about 8 years playing Everquest 2. The shit you can do with 2 characters instead of 1 sometimes can be a world of difference, granted GW2 the real point would mostly be to be able to get daily rewards and tag rewards for 2 chars instead of 1.

2
Lunarvolo•

I've done Mo & Samarog on two accounts back when Samarog was more one shotty. Was rough but a lot of fun. two keyboards, two mice, very intense.

1
Lon-amiLoreleidre [HoS]•

It's a problem because ArenaNet lets it be a problem. Design the game so having multiple accounts it less desirable than having a single account with multiple upgrades, and all these problems would disappear.

Gotta pump those active user metrics for the investors though, even if they're a farce -_-.

or using 2 keyboard... or auto run and alt tabing.

0
Shufflepants•

The way they jump in unison even when one of them is otherwise not doing anything makes me think they are not doing it in a TOS friendly way.

3
lala005614•

I do agree with you.

However same can be done using 2 monitor and 2 keyboard (2 PC). (You have 2 hand that can multi task movement and strafe camera on both keyboard at same time).

But ya cant know.

1
Lon-amiLoreleidre [HoS]•

I've seen a few multiaccounts fishing together, it's kinda lame :I.

20
EvilMyselfSmack em' with a stick•

How does that even work tho? As far I've seen it, the fishing minigame is different for every person fishing, so they wouldn't sync up?

10
Lon-amiLoreleidre [HoS]•

No idea, maybe they do sync up? I've seen more of them a few times in the fishing contest event, something is up, that's for sure.

Is this satire or did you not watch the video xD

5
HunterTheCapricorn•

I saw it. It can be done by normal means actually but it's kind of rare and you have to coordinate well enough. I remember having seen people making a perfect pentagram with the elementalist dagger fire line skill a few years back. It took them a lot of tries though.

1
[deleted]•

Yeah, same :(

1
MrFoozOG•

Botting is the least of the issue's in gw2 luckily.

In games like New world it's a huge issue because they screw up the economy on immense scales. But gw2 never truly suffered at it because all you do is tag events and go AFK. So do bots.

I mean it's not like they can farm rare items at significant levels to screw up the economy entirely.

-7
EvionicOPPraise Joko•

Is there any data you've collected that says the botting in gw2 hasn't significantly affected the economy? And can you name the issues more important than a cheater in a video game

3

Who cares. Im Just hoping the 2 accounts he recorded get banned

A very long time ago a mod actively recorded himself throwing a character off of a cliff in DR, the player had been cheating. Is this any different? Recording extreme offenses in our community and bringing light to them? Here's the video.

“Game dead”, “6 minute queue for pvp”, well which is it mate? Also it’s really tough to make scripts and bots for pvp in any game, you’re probably just shit mate

31
BadLuckProphet•

I make no claims on the dude's skill but ranked pvp is full of bots.

Of course it's also full of raging idiots. And honestly...

I prefer the bots. Lol.

Also you're right about scripting and props to whoever wrote the mirage bot because it's better than 70% of the pvp player base.

Wooden_Voice7107•

Yes, p1 is shit! 2 years ago was queue 1:30 Now 6:30. Make the math dumbo and fix your teeth

-63
Sigrah117•

And this, children, is called a 'pvp player'. Don't look directly at it as any slight acknowledgement is liable to set it off and unleash a flood of baseless insults to make up for the fact they can't actually fight.
