Attenborough.. man’s a genius..

Why? What attributes/accomplishments do you admire about the man that will really make you miss him when gone, even though you don't know him personally.

1

All of his programmes he makes really open your eyes to the bigger picture on sustaining life. There isn’t anyone else IMO with that kind of passion for when he passes.

Honestly so sharp in his 90s. Must do a lot of reading and research for his documentaries. Keep the brain strong and sharp.

I'm curious about his diet, because amazing shape for someone in their 90s. Maybe genetics, but like I mentioned in my other comment his actor brother died well before 90 I believe?

It's multifactorial obviously.

2
brownSam1997OP•

He had produced many many documentaries about nature, the animal kingdom, earth etc. Really trying to show the beauty as well as the ugliness of the world. Balance.

He's in incredibly good shape physically and mentally and incredibly mentally sharp at his age in his 90s Which is incredible and still at it. It seems like more than just a job for him.

His brother died much younger. His brother was a famous actor who played a character in the movie "the Great escape". Etc.

1

Putin.

I would get drunk for days, after partying too hard.

3
brownSam1997OP•

Do you think he has a chance of living at this point? And yes a massive impact, not just you, but the rest of the world.

1

I think, he will get killed soon. Either way. If Ukraine wins he dies. If Russia wins he gets assasinsted.

2
brownSam1997OP•

It's so strange, but he has more balls than me. I actually want to live.

He could try escaping and living in the wilderness. But he's getting old, maybe a bit crazy that he already was and has been in power for so long and so much, I can't imagine what it does to a person.

He would be easily recognisable. Unless he can grow facial hair and maybe wear a wig if he leaves the country to a different Country.

Or maybe he will be able to step down and live somehow. But I'm sure he has made a lot of enemies in his lifetime.

Marshall Mathers or Eminem for those living under a rock haha. Grew up with his music and it helped me out of some dark times and depression too. Definitely will cry a lot.

8 Mile was a great movie. He's actually a pretty good actor. Especially the scene in "The interview" where he comes out as a gay rapper in the film. It's really funny.

3
Stabyouup666•

I love 8 mile I’ve watched it so many times and it never gets old. He is and I’ve been eager to see him in more but he just doesn’t seem as interested in acting as he is in music. Either way he’s a goat and will be forever in my eyes 👀

He also did a comedy skit where he went into a comic shop and got into a "geek argument". And he's most definitely a geek as well. The man comes across as an alien, isn't afraid of being himself and expressing himself, even his weird side.

Here is the skit: https://youtu.be/tw1AYwpHyKQ

And obviously his dedication to music, I remember watching an interview where he brings out boxes of lyrics on paper, reading the dictionary, explaining how to rhyme certain words that wouldn't necessarily go together like the orange example he gave.

https://youtu.be/6iHY5ROqBiE

And he has obviously gone through times. And has a distinct voice, where you know it's Eminem being played.

I’ll check that one out. I’ve seen his skit where he goes back to school and then one where he teaches Jimmy Kimmel how to rap, they are some of my favourite skit like things of his. He’s a self proclaimed comic book nerd he loves the punisher. He’s definitely a smart man and he has so many people who look upto him that even his weird side would seem really dope to someone. He’s just a humble dude and like You said he’s not afraid to say what he thinks

Mel Brooks that man is hilarious and gave no fucks!

The Queen.

2
brownSam1997OP•

Why the Queen? I ask because I'm anti monarchy personally. I don't think she does much. But use tax payer money and speak on the telly and do tours now and again.

Prove me wrong however. But what attributes/accomplishments of the person will make you miss her?

1
brownSam1997OP•

Or maybe the impact is that it will be all over the news for weeks which may impact your daily TV enjoyment haha /s Thus the impact is a massive inconvenience haha.

1
Velteau•

The Queen is the personification of Great Britain. She isn't particularly politically relevant, but everybody in the Anglophone world (except for the US) kind of expects her Christmas addresses, seeing her riding her ponies, that kind of thing. She's like the Commonwealth's grandma, and has been for as long as most people have been alive. Throughout Britain's recent political history, through whatever trials and tribulations may come, she's the one constant that symbolises the Kingdom's continuation. Her death would take away that consistent comfort that she represents.

I understand your viewpoint.

Henry rollins. I relate to him on so many levels and respect and admire his work ethic

I just love the commitment he brings and intensity of being one with solitude, working out, getting the job done etc. He's incredibly Articulate and smart for someone who claims to not be.

I love his spoken word shows, I loved him in black flag, I loved him in rollins band. I like how he travels and tries new things out and is writing.

He was very aggressive and anti social but has seemed to of mellowed out in his later years. He even responded to an email I sent when I was a teenager asking about diet and workout advice.

He has so many flaws which I relate and see in myself and has achieved so much.

Bob Newhart

2
brownSam1997OP•

Why so?

1
abeetzwmoots•

Seems to be a funny but nice man.

2
brownSam1997OP•

Such simple qualities, yet strong enough for you to feel this way. It's beautiful in a way.

1
94H_Civ_Equiv•

None of them. They're just people.

2
brownSam1997OP•

I didn't say they're not people. But they're are in the set of people which contain commonalities which group them in the set "celebrity".

One of the properties being a public figure. So no public figure you admire or don't?

It could be a positive impact or a negative impact. Such as being glad a dictator has died and your country is free, as a extreme example.

But I understand, everyday people do admirable stuff. Like you say everyone is a person. But I'm talking specifically celeb.

Why? Because it's interesting, that someone's death can impact someone when you don't even know the person personally.

Know what I mean?

1
94H_Civ_Equiv•

They're just people. Not even real people, for that matter. Morons that worship them conflate them with the characters they play on camera. They've been exposed as pedophiles, drug addicts, and morons. There's nothing special about them at all. By the math, if they all died tomorrow, it's a net gain.

0
brownSam1997OP•

You do realise you've generalised an entire set of people. Some are genuine and real. No one is saying anything about worshipping. Maybe your statement is true for a small subset.

That's a true statement for a subset of celebs, but you've made an awful generalisation IMO.

Exactly they're people. And it's interesting people develop connections to people they've never met. And that's interesting.

You've completely misinterpreted and looked quite foolish IMO.

Cmon man, generalisations used incorrectly. But obviously your opinion. I'm just pointing out logical fallacy.

1
94H_Civ_Equiv•

My complete and total disagreement with your premise isn't a misinterpretation.

President Chad Zelensky!

2
brownSam1997OP•

Is he a real person? Never heard of him. I ask because he is called Chad. So I never know if it's a joke sometimes.
