Return to sender

Poem

Moving from place to place

Waiting for life to render

Wanting to see your face

Just trying to return to sender

I really like this. The fact that it’s so small gives it a special charm, like you’ve got almost nothing to say, but it still conveys so much, like the boredom of one’s life and the urge to see a loved one.

The idea of return to sender, gives me the impression of someone who you can finally relax and be yourself around

And longing to have the time with that special person again, whilst your life renders, to help you get through it together

I love the second verse in a way that makes me think of playing minecraft with my childhood buddies. The worlds sometimes took like up to 5 minutes to fully render and until that happens you cannot see and explore the beauty of the creator. Through this the second verse connects with the fourth verse, in that you are telling the world to return you to your creator in heaven. I assume I am misinterpreting but I am thankful that you gave me the opportunity to think about returning to my God in heaven. I am also now realizing that the third verse connects really well with my interpretation in that I am yearning to lay eyes on my Father in heaven. 🙌🙌

Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.
