Anyone else have the issue where sound gets squelched after more than a second or two of sustained sound?

Kind of a weird problem but I couldn't find it anywhere else. When using the test audio function in settings any time I try to hold out a sound, sing a note, whatever, if it is longer than a second it gets the volume quickly turned down to zero, then comes back, over and over, so it sounds choppy but in weird 1 second intervals and it makes it impossible to sing anything or even just say a longer word as some sounds get cut off at the end. Really annoying. Doesn't happen for OBS or any other audio I record through. Anyone else test this and see if it happens to them?

I've been having audio issues since yesterday. Streaming youtube just fine but when my bf tries to stream a game to me (any game, from any server) it sounds horrible. It'll be fine for all of 10 seconds and then suddenly sound like it's being picked up through a horrible headset.

I too am now experiencing this. My partner was streaming Skyrim to me and it sounded like it was coming through a phone. Like, the moment they start the stream it's fine, but to me it sounds like the sample rate immediately ramps down to 800Hz or less, it's barely even landline telephone quality. I started up Star Citizen just to test and they are hearing the exact same effect from my end. This seems to be all of Discord, and it only started in the last day or two.

+1 to this issue. It has affected a few streamers I watch on Twitch, other people joining their VC, as well as myself. The fact it isn't more widespread is concerning.
