Max Gawn panic time?

Scored 92 and 88 and Luke Jackson is starting to do some damage both against the opposition as a ruckman and also against Max Gawn owners in SC.
First rule of fight club is don't trade premiums etc etc etc but 2 duds in a row is worrying.

Maybe, I don’t think I will trade him yet.. can’t say for the second game, but the first game I think he had like 5 frees against and a couple clangers, so the first game could of easily been a huge score and we probably wouldn’t be having this discussion.

He had 18 hitouts, and 18 disposals at 44%. He's still finding the ball fine, just not being very efficient with his disposals

He has missed a few goals he would normally kick too. I think if jackson is getting on top Gawn will spend time forward and he is usually good for a couple of goals

The problem is Gawn used to get those goals and on top of that being the primary ruckman he'd get the stoppage possessions + hitouts to boost his scoring into no.1 SC ruck territory. If he's going to be having more games where he's splitting stoppage time his scoring is going to drop back which was worst case scenario for those worried about the Jackson impact coming into this season.

If you don't like it, make the trade. Don't come to reddit looking for opinions if you already have your mind made up. I'm backing him in over the course of the season. I also think Melbourne will flex their muscles more as the season wears on. But my opinion is just that, an opinion.

It's a discussion buddy not asking for a support group. I'll get back to you in 18 weeks.

I’m keeping him He’s got the runs on the board

He's probably Gawn from my team this week, really want Cripps and Hewett in, and th money has to come from somewhere.

Yeh the money in the bank to improve other lines is potentially huge but in previous seasons it was insanely risky unless you nailed the picks.

We knew Gawn was overpriced at the start of the season, but we picked him on the basis that he'll still probably be a top 3 ruck. Even now, who would you trade to?

English is probably the best option but Martin is still a risk to his scoring.

Other options who have played both games include Marshall and Witts but I wouldn't say they inspire much confidence either.

Correct no obvious one (I already have English). The positional changes come round 6 might throw some spanners in the works with some ruckman becoming fwd eligible and some fwds getting ruck status (Xerri 100% will be getting it).

He's in 54% of teams so there's a lot in the same boat.

I'm sticking with the set and forget. If he is getting more forward then I would make the assumption he might get DPP. if so, I might move him into the fwd and look at bring in another premo ruck.

Bold strategy. You'd want your cash gen to be on point.

I rarely make trades of premos but went Gawn > English this week. Gawn is living in Jackson's shadow right now, and while I wouldn't trade out on form after 2 weeks, form + role change was enough for me.

I don't subscribe to the Stef Martin theory. English has started like a house on fire and I don't see how a 35 year old who hasn't played 10 games in either of his last 2 years knocks him out of the #1 spot.

Yeah I pulled the trigger too but I already had English so I straight swapped Gawn to Jackson lol. It's probably a completely ridiculous move but my plan is to eventually move Jackson to F6 and bring in whichever premo ruck has bottomed out or is best value around the byes.
