I hope this works.
The amount of bullshit city and municipal planners want to get a sub-division off the ground is astounding.
Any NIMBY can delay the process for months to years.

The amount of bullshit city and municipal planners want to get a sub-division off the ground is astounding.
But hold on a second, municipalities are creatures of the Province, no? So how can municipalities ask for all the 'bullshit' as you label it if they aren't directed to do so by the Province?
Oh, is it because all the 'bulltshit' is actually required, by law, through the Planning Act?
This type of deflection shit is the exact reason nothing will get better and dipshits will continue to vote for parties who are saying they're fixing things while simultaneously being the root of the problem.
You don't even have to get into the overly technical sections of the Planning Act to see how much shit the Province has put on the shoulders of municipalities through the Planning Process. Part I. S.2 Provincial Interest is all you need to review the see where all this 'bullshit' comes from.
Be outraged, but please direct your outrage in the proper direction lest you miss the man behind the curtain.
Is there any reasonable way nimbyism can be outlawed?
You can’t outlaw an opinion, but you can ignore them.

Tax breaks for the rich, fuck all for anyone else.
Not true. You might get $120 bucks back for your license plate renewal!
With a 5% (foreign only) increased tax on investors, all this means is a gold rush for investors. It's either going to be normal Canadians that are already home owners jumping into a brand new house and non home owners fighting over scraps and losing out to investors on the old homes or investors buying the new houses flat out.
The market got to the way it did with a 15% tax, runs of 40%+ in the most reserved of cherry picked data... So what is 5% in the business world of transactions? Cost of doing business and the show must go on.
In 2021, the average sale price of homes in the province was 44 per cent higher than two years earlier, according to figures from the Canadian Real Estate Association.
Says the association responsible jacking up the prices as they high-five eachother.

Yeah instead of taxing those who buy rental properties let’s just build 1.5million more for them to buy (and Ford can make his developer friends happy)
Oh look it helps developers make more money faster... Surprise sur-fucking-prise...
Developers will continue to make even more money with these changes. Doug Ford is making sure his friends still get paid.
I’m honestly fine with that if it means more affordable housing for Ontario and bringing prices down.
It doesn’t mean that though
We don’t even know what the announcement is yet, so you have no clue either. We’ll see once things are announced, but I hope it’s something meaningful that makes things better for young people looking to own.
Edit: I not a fan of Ford, but any changes made to battle these idiotic house prices is a win in my books. Still doesn’t get my vote in the election though.
The article already said they are going to be removing restrictions for developers.
It will mean more housing, but not more affordable housing.
Developers still want to maximize profit per square foot, so expect to see whatever it takes to achieve that.
If houses are selling for $1m on the secondary market, why make a development property selling for $800k?
Finally a sane person! Every online space is completely devoid of knowledge on the housing issue
Would you prefer to make developers broke, or would you prefer to make homes more affordable? They are distinct goals that are mutually exclusive in many senses.
Developers will not go broke.
Housing will not be made more affordable.
Why would developer sell for any less money than they are getting now? If the Province streamlines the approval process, which will supposedly reduce their costs, will the developer also commit to lower their prices? People are literally lining up to buy units now, and they are selling out all their inventory, so there is no incentive to reduce prices.
Exactly. Why make less profit.
Same thing as buck a beer. Why should the brewers take a hit on their profits.
Says who?
They are already sitting on tons of undeveloped land. Why build more when you can keep the price artificially high.
Housing prices have not been skyrocketing because of supply issues
Housing prices have not been skyrocketing because of supply issues
Really? Tell that to everyone who lost in a bidding war and everyone who wants to buy a home despite all time low levels of housing inventory.
