Lloyd gets movies made at least. Especially in a time when it was very difficult to make indie movies. There's something great about him.

I met Lloyd when he premiered Poultrygeist here over a decade ago. I had read make your own damn movie (and learned a lot) and seen the docs on the MYODM DVD’s. After chatting with him a bit I somehow had the balls to give him a dvd of my two student films, as I was halfway through film school at the time. He was very energetic and kind and polite. We took a selfie with the Toxie mask, and he was really funny during the Q&A. I even got an email from him a couple weeks later saying he had watched my dvd and that I showed promise as a filmmaker. And even if he never actually watched it, I’ve always appreciated that he took the time to say he did. That said, I would never work on a Troma set.

Pretty much any time I’ve seen Lloyd in an interview he comes across as a condescending prick. If you want to see what might be the most unfunny dickhead interview ever made see his appearance in the documentary “the last blockbuster”. It’s one thing to be kind of crass with an interviewer, usually it ends up as funny, but in that particular one he goes way over the fucking line. The documentary wasn’t good at all, but it was a really amateur one and I couldn’t help but feel bad for the interviewer as this asshole kept doing his best to derail any conversation. I think he tolerates bimmy because the two of them have the same middle school sense of humor

Was about to mention the last blockbuster as if he's so important he doesn't need to introduce himself

cenamark•

It was silly for him to make the interview about that. Just state your case on why Blockbuster was terrible for indie film makers.
Terrible film, DNF. There's only so much you can say about the last Blockbuster.

Troma films are the king of incel cinema and Lloyd is the mega asshole steering the ship. Never cared for any of it. The guy always came off to me like a massive prick.

1

there's some gems in the earlier days! Frostbiter: Wrath of the Wendigo 1995 is like even crazier Evil Dead, very underrated. Dead Dudes in the House 1991 and Bugged 1997 are also really fun.

supmandude•

It was funny.

My favorite Lloyd story is how he tried to get Lemmy to cameo in a Troma movie but Lemmy got bored waiting around on set for them to be ready to film and he bailed lol

21
BiasedPOS•

Lemmy has been in plenty of Troma films, but yeah he did that lol

13
Kasey_ACDC•

Yeah my bad. I wasn’t sure if he was ever actually in a Troma movie as I’ve never seen a single one

1†

lemmy is the tromaville mayor across a few films, or is he like the president? maybe ron jeremy is the mayor.

and see, Lemmy's an ACTUAL legend.

The best parts of his movies past Terror Firmer are the making of documentaries that are usually longer and far more psychotic than the actual films, but like they say he at least gets his movies finished.

I remmber in poultrygiest documentary they slam a guy's head on a kitchen cabinet and he cracks his skull for real and blood going down his face and he's begging lloyd to keep it in the film and lloyd refuses.

IAmDanksy@YungCazzy :10_inches:•

Honestly my favorite troma movies are the documentaries they make during a lot of them, like Poultrygeist, Terror Firmer, and Citizen Toxie. Love the low budget vibes.

6

Poultry documentary is hilarious, they film lloyd coming out of an outhouse because the craft table was mexican food every night and he keeps going in there to shit his brains out and have to stop filming theres shots of him running there trying not let it squirt out lol and the other funny part is when the guy has to pretend to be electrocuted in the resturant and he does like 15 takes of it and is getting angry at the guy having to scream over and over. It made me die laughing.

2
IAmDanksy@YungCazzy :10_inches:•

I also died laughing at the guy getting his head smashed on the kitchen counter by accident, when he is getting his head dunked in a deep fryer lol

1

"keep it in the film!"
lloyd: no! go to a hospital, we are gonna shoot it again

garubtreeI'm Bimmy. Want some shiiiiiit? •

Ngl one reason I’ve never bothered watching his movies is because of how much nuttier he is than squirrel shit, makes me not interested.

Gorac888•

He is an abusive sack of shit. And one of James heroes. Some people like abusive sacks of shit apparently

2†
slickmethodology•

I'm in the north east United States it's pretty common knowledge that he rolls that way if you know anybody that works in film out here.

Lol not sure why we’re being downvoted but yeah I really can’t stay the guy, and feel I’m in the minority.

A lot of people online deal in absolutes. It is what it is. You can admire somebody's work (I loved Nuke Em' High, Sgt. Kabukiman and the first 2 Toxies growing up) and still recognize that they're a scummy piece of shit. It's not either or. One or the other. I mean if everything was in black and white with no shades of gray then I probably wouldn't even be a Big Ryan fan btw.

Fking Sgt. Kabukiman... If you haven't seen it do yourself a favor and fix that.

You should write a 10 page manifesto on why someone disagreed with you on the internet

Maybe they are covertnarcs who supports abuse? Anyway... i am very naive when it comes to people. You see some videos of them goofing around and beeing funny and think they are good people and then discover they are sacks of shit.

those docus are fine. it is a crazy low budget movie set with some dude's money on the line, and not a lot at that and 90% of the cast are crazy punk fans on meth that are there to shit around and his team are a bunch of 16-25 year old inexperienced street punks

1
bitbot•

You have to be a dictator not a director to make movies like Troma does, with so little money and inexperienced crew. But he always seem to put the safety of the actors and everyone else first.

1
AVGNmegafanbtw•

Good lord thanks for linking this. I hope James isn't aware of this side of Lloyd because if he is that's some messed up stuff treating your crew that way

This sub sure is simping hard for this red cow guy. I guess it goes to show all you have to do is make a video mildly making fun of Bimmy.

Yeah I don't get it. Two guys who talk as boring as Bimmy who can only get views talking about Bimmy. Kinda sad, really. But I believe they themselves are among the simps here posting about their videos
