This game makes me feel how Borderlands 2 made me feel when I first played it.
In 2012, I was watching TV at home and saw an advert for Borderlands 2. Never heard of the series or played the games, but the advert intrigued me enough to buy it. Little did I know it'd become my favourite game of all time.
In a time when the PS3 was a bit of a dull console with a crap selection of games, BL2 made me love gaming all over again. Everything about it just clicked for me. When BL3 was announced and the trailer dropped, I was ridiculously hyped! Unfortunately, the game was underwhelming with annoying villains and an awful story. The gameplay was great, but the rest just felt off to me.
Playing Wonderlands for the first time, and I feel that magic I felt back in 2012 when I picked up BL2. The gameplay is so satisfying, the spells and visual effects are amazing, the lands and characters are weird and wonderful, and I'm just so damn hooked playing this game. I haven't moved for hours and am fully sucked in and absorbed in the game and its world. This easily blows BL3 out of the water for me so far.
Don't get me wrong, it's not absolutely perfect. I've noticed a few little annoying bugs like hero stats text disappearing when scrolling down the list. A melee weapon spinning around on the ground. Some weird physics things with loot. And various other small menu-type bugs which are a bit irritating. But nothing so much as to totally ruin my experience.
Anyway I'm just going to ramble on if I carry on, but honestly I'm having a blast. What are you guys thoughts on it?

Honestly, the few things I don’t like about the game are very nitpicky; I wish I could go faster in the Overworld, and the amount of spells that drop feels annoying, but that’s it!
I absolutely loathe the overworld, but it'd be damn near perfect if you could "fast travel" anywhere within it. Like, in-universe pick up your piece and drop it anywhere you've already explored. Backtracking on it just takes so long, I tend to fast travel to a map near where I want to go then travel to the overworld but that's two loading screens which shouldn't be necessary.
You basically can... if you open the map to the overworld, you can select any zones you've been in and fast travel to a travel point within it instead of having to run all the way there, then just leave the zone via the overworld gate
I genuinely appreciate you trying to help with the annoyance because it was a few days before I learned that was possible, but that is literally what I describe doing in my comment.
Ha! The last couple sentences didn't even register in my work addled brain lol
I'm not sure if you are on PC, but there i can. You can move your map selection on each area after "backing out"(one of the key selections viewable at the bottom of the screen) and select an area specifically moving your overworld map to the center of it. You can then press another button to change focus to that area and "holding e(on pc)" lets you teleport to that area like in bl3.
Edit: you can do this without ever entering the overworld as long as you have fast travel there
Bang on. They aren't huge problems and I didn't include them in my post, but you're right. Overworld speed could use an increase. And the amount of spells that drop constantly is really annoying. On the other hand, I've not seen a single legendary drop yet which is good. I always felt BL3 went way over the top with those, and they didn't really feel legendary because they dropped so often.
That might be becos they r forcing us to pick up all the damn dice
I wish you could turn the camera in the overworld.
R1 to zoom in the overworld kinda helps in some areas, at least. Once I discovered that, it made navigating the overworld a little easier.
There is a shrine that gives you added movement speed
Does that affect Overworld movement speed as well, or is that just in-map speed?
Both I believe. Certainly overworld.
