Events to increase Croatian happiness?

Question

I got a bug during my current Yugoslavia run in which Croatia has just stopped showing up for the minigame. Is there any event I can trigger via console to bump their loyalty by 1 so I can take the focus to end the minigame?

If you need to take a focus to end the mini game, you could try using the commands focus.nochecks and focus.autocomplete, though that may not be appropriate in your situation.

The way the yugo events work is kinda strange, as in that there's not a specific event id for a specific event that can raise or lower the relations. There are only two events that can raise the Croat relations (and so many that lower them, without you even having a choice). One is a separatist newspaper attack, which raises one of the non-Serb relations by one at the cost of stability (but it's a 25% chance for each), and the other is an issue of disparity of wealth between north and south... and you don't want that one, because you can raise the Croat and Slovene relations by 1, while lowering the relations for Serbs and other Yugoslavs by 2.

The event id is "yugoslavia.16". The event is basically a placeholder for a lot of sub-events, so there's no way to get a very specific one, like the separatist newspaper one, unfortunately. I'm afraid you'll just have to do it the old fashioned way, and do the minigame normally by investing PC into Croats. True to history, they are the hardest to please.

Unfortunately I cannot even do the mini game. The Croatians don't appear at all to be invested in. They haven't since I got an even that said I can't invest in them for one round. I think it bugged because it rolled over to a new round while the event was up.

Might just focus no checks and autocomplete to do the final focus and see what happens.

There's no event that makes you unable to invest in them. I believe what you are talking about is the Ustasa event, where it clears your currently invested PC in Croats and sets them to 0.

Now, normally you'd NOT invest in Croats until a few days before the end of the round, so you can avoid the event. It's frustrating when you invest 5 PC into Croats only to have the Ustasa event fire and set the PC investment to 0. But there is a bug where if you have 0 PC invested in Croats, and you click the option in the Ustasa event to set it to 0, the Croat PC investment completely bugs out and is gone forever. It's a bug that's been reported, not sure if it's going to be fixed in the next patch.

In order to avoid locking yourself like that, you should invest at least 1 PC in Croats when the event fires, so it can properly set it from 1 to 0. That way, the PC investment will function normally.

So to sum it up: Don't let your Croat PC investment be 0 when the Ustasa event times out or is selected.

You can do the nochecks and autocomplete, but you will have to live with negative Croat modifiers for the rest of the game. There's really nothing you can do about them once you complete the Brotherhood and Unity focus.

That's exactly what happened. Thanks for the info!

Luckily I'd gotten them up to 10 before the event fired. They are down to 9 now but I can live with that.

Yeah, 9 is manageable, because it gives you positive modifiers.

This bug is the same for all Yugoslavia flavors, so you should keep that in mind when investing PC in Croats.
