[5e][Online][EST][LGBTQ+ Friendly] DM and 2 players looking to start a new homebrew adventure

Hello everyone!

I am seeking 1-2 additional players for an upcoming homebrew campaign. My existing group is finishing up Curse of Strahd in the next 2-3 weeks, and we’ll be starting something fresh after that. One of my players isn’t able to continue on due to getting busier, so we have an opening.

Format: Fantasy Grounds (free for you) and Discord for voice

Availability: We don’t have our exact day yet, but it’s between Mon, Tue, or Wed somewhere in the ballpark of 5-10pm EST (5-9 or 6-10 depending on the day we decide on)

What we plan to do: We are going to create a world together and start a campaign within it. Most of what we have so far is fairly vague because I intend to build it with my players so we are all on the same footing regarding the lore of the world. It will be mostly fantasy with some magitech/steampunk elements (think Final Fantasy 9). The basic idea for the first campaign in this world, is centered around magic item hunting. This could be for a museum, adventure guild, sky pirates, etc. We will create some major NPCs in an airship-bound guild to do our magic item hunting on.

About Me: I’ve been DMing since 2019. My resume includes Curse of Strahd twice, LMoP, two other homebrew campaigns, a handful of one shots, and an ongoing Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign.

I like the rules, but I’m also totally down for a creative idea. I’m my party’s biggest fan. I really like to encourage my players to take agency over the world and influence it accordingly. The less I’m talking, the better job I’m doing with immersion is my philosophy.

Some of my influences/likes are Final Fantasy, Magic the Gathering, His Dark Materials, Pokemon, and Zelda.

What we are looking for:

• Consistency/reliability. We’ve played weekly only missing a week or two for our entire last campaign (around 50 sessions). Life happens and it’s fine, but 99% of the time you gotta show up.
• Someone who isn’t afraid to have an RP moment. The next bad guy isn’t always out there waiting to pounce. Sit around the fire and dig into the quiet moments, have that shopping episode, and engage in downtime activities
• Be LGBTQ+ friendly, anti racist, feminist, 18+, etc. My gay ass isn’t going to tolerate bigotry and neither will my other players.
• Be curious, willing to learn, but also hold yourself accountable to knowing your stuff. Take the initiative to learn what your character can do. Know the rules but be creative and get me thinking on my feet!
• No player homebrew. We exclusively use PHB, XGE, Tasha’s, and various and sundry options from other books like Volos and Tortle Package. I do often homebrew/edit stat blocks for monsters, magic items, etc though.
