Offline multiplayer suggestions

Discussion

My wife and I are going to be going on a trip with a long flight soon and I'm looking for game suggestions for her and I to play on our Steam Decks together while on the plane. I'll have a small travel router with me, so LAN connections won't be a problem, but internet connection isn't a guarantee.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It Takes Two is the first thing that comes to mind, and you only have to buy it once.

BiPed is good too.

If Brothers, a Tale of Two Sons supports co-op play, I'd definitely get that for the trip.

Any of those use LAN for multiplayer though? In my experience lan multiplayer is damn near dead on PC.

Maybe not quite the kind of suggestion you're looking for, but RetroArch cores that support netplay (most of them) would allow you to play almost any emulated game multiplayer on LAN. You'd have tens of thousands of console games and arcade machines to choose from without having to do any game-specific setup like launching a dedicated server on one of the decks or keying in an IP address.

SRB2 and SRB2kart runs on a Doom engine so natively has good LAN support.
I think SRB2 is in the Discovery app.
Tux Kart should also be good for LAN play.
System Shock 2 is on steam and could be pretty good over lan.
Left4Dead 1/2
I think there might be plenty on the Discovery app but many multiplayer games with a browser option may have offline lan support.

You might also get away with using steam link streaming over LAN but it might not work well with sharing controls, not sure.

Older fps. No aim assist though, so to get any accuracy you'd probably have to do trackpad+gyro, sticks are gonna suck on stuff like Quake and Unreal Tournament.

Facing Worlds sounds like a good way to end my marriage
