Ok, Uhm, wow. I am typing this live, and I need a sec after having read your masterpiece.

Alright, it´´ s been a few minutes, so here I go :D

  1. Astonishing content buried within such a short poem. I applaud you, dear poet!
  2. Encapsulates a key urge every poet has got to have had at one point in time perfectly, as well as how writing poetry itself can feel.
  3. Every line feels intuitive and "right" which is still a massive feat, even in a short(er) poem! So, well, fantastic stanza/ "flow"!
  4. Love the vocabulary, I did not know the meaning of the word used in the headline but after having looked it up in my dictionary, the poem just doubled in value and I am especially grateful to have read it with care!

I thoroughly enjoyed the poem and hope you upload more in the future!

Cheers, Lucca

Very minimal, playful. equating 'frivolous' poetry or nonsensical light-heartedness/playfulness to "inventing a world on a pea" was very interesting and struck me as true. i got the sense that the narrator was arguing for why he should write 'light verse' against some super-ego or something saying that it was nonsense/odd/drivel. title rhyming with AA A was a nice touch. i cant really think of anything bad to say, except i felt like i wanted there to be more between the lines, but at the same time that complements the theme of frivolity, as if the lines are charged particles with unexplored but excited potential.

This is really fun, simple(but not too simple) and gets the point across. The rhyme scheme and rhythm/flow is near perfection. “Drivel” is a great word and for some reason works really well with “pea”.

As I read it I am trying to figure out if “inventing the world on a pea” or inventing a world on a pea” sounds better. In my opinion, the former might flow a bit better.

You’ve accomplished a poem that’s funny without being trite, creative without being weird, quirky without being high-brow.

I didn’t exactly understand the poem, but I guess that kind of the point.

It was a lot of fun to read and the rhymes were sweet and simple.

I loved the line - I feel like a god, albeit I’m odd (I also love the use of albeit in a poem)

The poem is so quirky, unique and yet not pretentious.

Great job!

Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that.
