[1176] Project Bluebird

Science-fantasy/Thriller

Hello there. I recently made a potential prologue for a novel I've got in the making. Prologues are really contentious I've come to learn so I tried to keep it as short as I could. I'm looking for improvements and I do have a couple questions I hope some of you could address.

  • I was inspired by a philosophy from H.P Lovecraft and wanted the reader to get that "Fear of the unknown" feeling from this chapter. Did you get that feeling?
  • Admittedly, my story isn't a horror story but I do want some elements of horror, mystery and thriller. I'm working on building tension. Did you get any of that? If not, what can I do to improve on that?
  • I left the ending on a loose plot thread? Did that affect the overall chapter?
  • Most importantly, did you enjoy it? If not, what didn't you like and what improvements could be made?

Have a bite!
