Scenic drives / red rocks around Reno?
Any scenic routes, trails or national parks neighboring Reno worth checking out?

My favorite is driving down south on Veterans pkwy just before sunset.
Lassen and Yosemite are what I'd consider neighboring Reno for national parks. Scenic drives, Echo or Sonora Pass
Definitely Lassen. I love that area.
If you want to see some red rocks, there is Red Rock right next to 395 north between Doyle and Stead. Such a beautiful spot. Usually lots of wildflowers there this time of year too.
Lassen Park is awesome. I go up there all the time.
Drive out to Pyramid Lake. Then head to Gerlach and down to 80 and back to Reno. It’s a nice loop.
Driving up Geiger Grade to Virginia city during the day, staying until it gets dark, and driving back down Geiger Grade at night with the whole valley lit up
Pretty sure I'd die doing this
