Opinions on Pierre Poilievre?
He’s saying the right things, but is he genuine? He’s a politician so he cannot really be trusted.
All opinions welcome.

You’re asking the wrong question. You’re asking us if we can trust him. All I care about is, can he hurt the Liberals and the media and drive them insane. And he does.
He is a highly competent politician, and holds some very good positions on economics. If you have ever seen him speak in parliament, It's highly entertaining to see him destroy the Liberals. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=805367753557200 This is my favorite. I have no doubt that he can beat Trudy. I don't know if he will follow through with his promises, but I'd have to say he is the best bet to turn Canada around. Full disclosure. I'm not voting for him or anybody else. I recommend that you watch the interview Jordan Peterson just did with him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C51jWWcrFc0&t=10s
Should PP become party leader, I'm not as confident as you that he can win the critical seats in the GTA that the CPC need to form government.
The Lib paid mainstream media will go into literal hyperdrive to smear him as well.
The media will do that regardless of who is the leader. I think Pierre is the most capable of countering the media smear machine. PP is the most competent of the candidates and as best as I can tell, is the most likely to win an election. I'm a bit biased though, I just want to see the absolute slaughter in a debate with Trudeau.

They will do that with anyone except Leslyn Lewis.
Agreed
Leslyn was my #1 vote on my CPC leadership ballot in 2020. Sloan # 2.
Slots 3 and 4 left empty.

he kind of needs to stop going on about bitcoin all the time. the problem for me, is it seems he is trying to ride the crypto hype train.. it also highlights that's kinda what he did/is doing with the truckers. once the trucker convoy proved how actually massive the movement against mandates was, he sprung into action to try to harness that energy, for political gain. he or his advisors realized this is a viable political movement, so he is trying to exploit that. doesn't mean he isn't genuinely against the mandates, i don't know, but he was awfully silent for quite some time about it.. but yes, he was at least vocal against the overprinting of money by the central bank, etc.
my preferred conservative candidate is dr. leslyn lewis for that reason. she was outspoken from early on, she spoke out against giving children these experimental injections and got a lot of flack for it. she has been highly against all mandates and made it clear from the start. well before any trucks were on their way to ottawa. i am quite positive she did not take the injections, but she simply says it is no ones business to know, that we have medical privacy in canada. she seems genuine and has a lot of experience outside of politics with her law background. i also think the liberals/trudeau are going to have more trouble disparaging a black female, while also pushing their whole diversity/inclusion message. would be an interesting debate.
obviously polievre is the front runner and he will likely win the nomination for party leader. but i like lewis.
He's our only hope.
I believe he's genuine for the most part, and the majority of CPC members seem to oppose the mandates anyways (especially if they're from out West since they are Reformers rather than Tories). This is what differentiates them from eastern conservative parties like the PCs, which are more likely to be filled with Blue Liberals/Red Tories and there isn't really any vertical party integration between the federal Conservatives and their provincial counterparts.
You may ask why he only spoke out when the Trucker Convoy arrived, and to that I would say that it was due to party discipline under O'Toole. Party leaders have a lot more control over their caucus than they do in the States, and it took a caucus revolt to oust O'Toole. Look what happened to Baber and Karahalios when they opposed Ford's PCs in Ontario; they were kicked out without question or even reprimand.
Look what happened to Baber
Or Sloan federally.
He has been consistent all along, he is likely more trustworthy than a few of the others.
Also, O'Toole showed us that going Lib-Lite only helps the Libs.
The most important question as far as I'm concerned: Is he affiliated with the WEF?
He has publicly denounced them. Although I remember seeing a post that he was as listed as being affiliated with them. He may have been a part of them and then left though.
Yeah he said he attended meetings as was his job at the time, denounced any membership. However, his campaign manager is Bill Baird, who is a member, so I find it sus
He has publicly denounced them
This is good. It's so hard to tell these days if someone is going to sell us out or not-- but these days being a WEF puppet or a graduate of their "young leaders" program is the single most glaring indicator that someone does not deserve to be in public office.
Here is a great interview with Polievre and Jordan Peterson:
Smooth operator politiking public opinion jockey- just like 'em all.
Hate him. Where was he for the last 2 years? Only started speaking against the mandates etc once he saw opportunity. Demanded vaxx pass to attend his speech in Vancouver. He's a predator, a liberal with a different colored tie. Nothing more.
I don't like how he hasn't spoke up until O'Toole was gone but I do think he would remove the mandates if he was PM. If the mandates are still there at the next election then I'll vote for him. Otherwise I'm staying with the PPC.
Poilievre just bailed today from the Independent Press Gallery leadership debate being hosted by Rebel News, True North and the Western Standard, causing the whole event to be canceled.
That's pretty sus if he's already ducking sympathetic forums for political reasons,
Been watching him on youtube for years, owning the Trudeau party with FACTS and LOGIC. It's been highly entertaining. I believe he's our best shot at fighting against covid mandantes after Mad Max but unlike Mad Max he's likely to get elected.
Every thing he talks about makes sense. I just hate that he's not talking about immigration, I guess the CPC and the Libs have the same agenda on this topic. But that's another debate for another subreddit...
The liberal owned media has been lambasting him as of late. I'd reckon they are a little concerned about the support he is garnering. I personally think he is the real deal, even with his early affiliation to the WEF. (Was scrubbed either by them because he stopped playing ball or by them to belie their upcoming intentions with him) The thing is, we can elect (lol) him in and demand better as a citizenry. We can hold these politicians to their words or standards, but Canada is full of weak minded people sadly. Look at Sri Lanka - it's a bloodbath but post conclusion, provided a puppet despot isn't installed, I'm willing to bet the next elected body doesn't fuck around after seeing whats happening to the corrupt politicians at the moment. Who knows, the great reset is coming regardless.
Seems to be the worst politician out there. Except for all the others.
Haha good comment 👍

That’s a fair take 🧐
He said nothing at all about restrictions and rights violations, until Erin O'Toole was gone.
Was he prevented from speaking out? Or did he/his advisors suddenly realize there was an opportunity to be seized? Does he really believe what he says?
As far as I could find he did not provide an explanation to the above questions... I'd rather have him there than Jean Charest (I lived in Quebec when he was the premier there, he should STFU and I'm being polite here) but I'm still on the fence if he may just end up being like the past two leaders - turn to a milder leftist once the leadership race is over...
Yes, he was. Party discipline is the norm in Canadian politics, and it seems like O'Toole was trying to keep his party members muzzled.
To be fair to O'Toole though, he did oppose all the vaccine mandates and passports when they were being proposed in September. He just wasnt very vocal about it and there is a lot of PPC propaganda that claimed he said the opposite.
The PPC can't be trusted.
I didn't realise this, I thought Erin O'Toole was for them. Guess the PPC propaganda worked lol
I kind of have the same concern. I haven’t followed him too closely until fairly recently. I know he’s been a pretty good attack dog when it comes to criticizing the Liberals in the House of Commons, but IDK, there’s a small part of me that thinks he might just be an opportunist trying to capitalize on certain issues.
I feel that in my gut too. Hard to explain what but it's there.
I’m sure many people feel the same way. Politicians gonna politician 🤷♂️
Yes. Party whips exist for that exact use. "Get on board with what the leadership is saying, or else."
