Blue diamond
(For reference she had a blue dress and blue eyes)
——————————————————————
When I hold the dress and close my eyes
I return to a dream,
I’m back again,
I’m holding you
We’re dancing through my tears.
You’re with me now hearts’ beating quick
But memories are souvenirs
The dress in my arms brings but a blip
A small shard of a memory;
life with a blue diamond.
〰
I was used to having the rock on my arm
My wrist bore the weight of the ring
And it it gleamed on my finger,
shiny Blue diamond
Highest of karats, and smart as a whip
A diamond,
fit for a king!
〰
And a king did bestow and he cherished the ring
with a love so deep from the start
But this king felt unworthy of the crown on his head
and the blue diamond in line with his heart
〰
The king was alone in his thoughts one night
The demons spreading a rot
They spoke of a ring that could shine more bright
“Impossible! He scoffed, “What a thought?”
〰
No diamond could shine brighter than Her
And so the demons they took me to him
and he spoke of a ring full of shine and grandeur
A brighter future ensured within
〰
He tainted the ring that I wore on my finger
He claimed that hope was all lost
Caused the shine of my diamond to linger
I began to underestimate its cost
〰
The king wanted to see the new ring
To compare the shine of the two
but the second didn’t exist
The demons were planning a coup.
〰
I had given my ring to the demons
Gambled it all on a shroud of hope
I’ve lost my blue diamond now,
fallen victim to Satan’s elope.
〰
Running my fingers through the fabric tracing every seam
The days are longer, colder too without You, my beautiful Aquamarine

Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).
If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.
If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.
