Are there any clinics in your area for low income or uninsured people? Like a planned parenthood or public clinics? Our healthcare is system is downright abusive to people! Im so sorry you’re going through this. Many hospitals will work out reasonable payment plans and give you discounts if you have to self pay as well. Also some of them offer emergency ER insurance or have funds for people that are uninsured you can apply for.
I live in a small town in Texas than ran off the planned parenthood unfortunately. I called the public clinic but they said because I didn’t qualify for pregnancy Medicaid and I’m technically insured (but not really) they couldn’t see me. I am still considering the ER but the bleeding lightened up a lot and I’m just laying in bed kinda of wallowing/evaluating things. We decided if it gets worse again I’d go.
I did call the hospital billing department to get a rough number of how much this would cost but no response Unsurprisingly.
If you keep bleeding, it is not safe to wait 8 days.
Some hospitals have very good payment plans that are income based. Maybe look on the websites of hospitals around you.
Regardless, 8 days of bleeding is not safe to deal with on your own and you should get checked out.

I’m so sorry. I agree about a low cost clinic for uninsured, and planned parenthood. It might be good to look up a subchorionic hematoma (if you aren’t familiar already) in this sub and see if it sounds similar to your experience. I only mention because I had an SCH last week at 12 weeks, it caused heavy bleeding with no pain. I did go to the ER, they did an ultrasound but you’re right, they didn’t do anything further except put me on pelvic rest and light activity.
Also I did have a natural miscarriage at home last year, but it was only at 7 weeks, and development stopped earlier. It was def tolerable. But 11 weeks may be a different story, I don’t know.
Did they give you blood or fluids with the SCH? Or just sent you home for rest
They did not give me blood or fluids. I bled for about an hour too, and it was a lot, although I’m not sure if I soaked through a pad bc I also used toilet paper/toilet. I had not lost enough blood to need further treatment, even though it felt like a lot. My SCH was relatively small though. If you have a sense that you’ve lost enough blood to need treatment, I really do hope you go to a hospital or clinic, your life is too important.
I'm really sorry. It's a crazy system your country has. I think you should get seen to as soon as possible. There are a number of really bad outcomes that can happen including sepsis, ectopic pregnancy and infertility. Things that could result in death, lifelong health complications and much larger medical bills. And things can go downhill quickly especially with infection.
Can you drive to a planned parenthood even if its several hours away?
So I’m a nurse but not in Texas. Most hospitals have a discount for staff and an option to pay your bill via payroll deduction over a year. I would go to the ER. Or call the ER, tell them you’re an employee and explain the situation and see what they say. I had bleeding for a few hours at 12 weeks and went to the ER. They did a pelvic exam to insure my cervix was closed, they did an ultrasound and the baby was fine and they did basic bloodwork and urine check for UTI. I’m 15 weeks now but bleeding like this should not be ignored.
Personally, I didn’t seek any follow-up care after my miscarriage. I knew what was happening and didn’t want to go back to the doctor. That said, embryo only made it 5 weeks and my body let it go at 8 weeks.
I would keep an eye on it and probably take a day or two off of work. Rest, stay hydrated and make sure to eat enough. Take care of yourself. If anything starts to feel bad or wrong, call the doctor.
Can you get on your state's medicaid? Income requirements for pregnant women are higher than the regular cutoff so even if you're working you may qualify. If you do they should backdate it to the beginning of the month so you'll be covered immediately. If your bleeding is heavy enough to warrant an ER or walk-in clinic visit they should be familiar with this process and the ER would still have to see you even if they weren't.
Unfortunately no. Me and my husband make too much to qualify when we looked into it a few weeks back. The bleeding was head but it lightened up now so I’m just monitoring it and seeing if I pass anything. Still contemplating a ER visit if I pick up bleeding again or it becomes painful
