in defense of the dark knight

the problem with people that point out plot holes

or are good at iq tests,

or take an interest in formal logic,

is that they take being good at this one thing,

the only objective good in the world,

(or so they whisper)

and utterly fail at other things

in fact, the more specialized they are

the greater their other shortcomings

and they have no shame in being emotionally unintelligent

or not being able to build with their hands,

they are brains and their bodies are an appendage

they have no taste for life or dirt,

they only love what is dead and sterile,

the realm of the forms

but life is so much more than objectivity and logic

plot holes are there because they make the movie more interesting,

they convey a sense the movie otherwise could not convey,

objectivity is not an ideal we can achieve,

rather it is something that we do.

it's an infrared goggle that's cannot see the other colors of life

to sum it up,

objectivity is blind to potential,

that which might be

that which should be

that which should not have been

objectivity may find the right answer,

but it cannot ask the right question
