[2000] Trip to St. Pete

I just want you guys to rip this to shreds. I wrote this specifically for a contest, but I don't think I like it. I've rewritten it so many times now, but I don't think I can make this story work haha. Please give me all the criticism you can, because I do actually want to make this good (even if not in time for the contest). I took some liberties with the writing style that may not land at all (please tell me if they are stupid). Let me know if I should just sit this contest out haha. Thank you.

By the way, the contest is supposed to be to take place on the open road and has to include the word "glove."
