interesting juxtaposition of imagery! makes me think of environmental pollution, toxic waste, etc. ducks and ponds are usually very cute and pure and clean. so i appreciated the uniqueness of the imagery. was there a message about the environment?
i appreciate how the haiku form as well, spreading the sentence across the three lines adds a sense of uncovering and of the full poem and i really liked that.

Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our [feedback guide](https://new.reddit.com/r/ocpoetry/wiki/feedbackcritiques), or look

Just threw this together for your awesome self, I figure your fishing for honest opinions in a place your not guaranteed to find them.

clever.
fun :)

I'm not Sure what to make of it asides from that but for some reason it made me think of this
In the light is an appropriate place to start
This way no matter how deep I go
I can always find my way back
so long as I don't travel too far
and get lost amidst the black

In the end I found the light to be a lesson in part
as light might bring you comfort when lost in the fog of uncertainty
until you first hear the laughs, and first, you might fear the worst...

But seems all the best ones were always just out of sight

In the light truly is an appropriate place to start
So now I realize that the shadows are but my friends
and the lights were only ever there to help me find them in the dark
