It's not just a phase
I stare at the mirror
I look back to you
But all I can think about is
What they said to you
You seem so bothered
You seem so blue
To be honest
I feel the same too
Yesterday they asked you to come back
And you refused
But you've been crying all night
I know it's too tough for you
They say it's just a phase
They say it'll go away
They say you would go back to them
But we've always been this way
What's so wrong to be us?
Can't they just accept us this way?
It's not like we didn't try to mold,
Fit into societal hold
But if this is what we are
Why can't we just live this way?
Who is the society anyways
To tell us how to live,
Whom to love ?
I can be what I want to be
I'm not confused, they are
So let my identity be my tag
I'll embrace it
Move ahead
I won't change
But hopefully one day the world would
Because love is love
And no barrier matters
I know it's hard
But hang in there
One day they'll understand
It's not just a phase.
