['99 Civic EM1] Removing base-tune DGtune chip and placing it back on the ECU. Will it reset or cause issues ?

Hi guys sorry for the total newb question but I am getting my B18b1/GSR Head Civic tuned in a month and the ECU has a "DGtune" Ebay base-chip on it.

The tuner I am going to use can work with those but he has asked me to remove it from the ECU and take photos of it and the ECU socket.

I was going to disconnect my battery and do that but then I realized I don't know about this stuff and got paranoid that it might re-set the chip or re-set my ECU and make the car run worse.

Anyone got experience with those types of chips ? Here's a pic of it :

I just wanna know if it is safe to disconnect battery, remove the chip, and replace it back.

Thanks for reading

Well I have the answer for anyone wondering.

The good news is it was safe to remove and replace. I did disconnect my battery before removing it but once I replaced the chip and reconnected the battery it was as if nothing changed. Car started up fine and drove fine.
