Is this a stupid nerd question? Yes. But if I had like 2 swords made of the stuff and I hit each other with the , would one break or be better than the other? Asking for a friend here.

Adamantium is canonically denser, so it could theoretically cut through pure vibranium. However, vibranium absorbs energy, so may not be possible to strike the vibranium sword with enough force that it breaks.
Depends we’d have to do a metallurgical study on them to determine things such as
Melting temperature
Boiling temperate
Phase changes
Crystal structure
Tensile strength
Can you alloy it? What does it alloy Best with?
Density
Heat transfer coefficient
Susceptibility to corrosion or decay
… all this considered I would wager that Adamantium is a stronger metal.
Almost none of those would matter for this question. We're banging swords together, not building rockets. Boiling and melting points, for example, would not come into play.
It seems that usually in the comics Wolverine can’t cut through Cap’s shield, so I’d say vibranium is stronger

It would be a draw, they'd bounce off each other. Adamantium is basically unbreakable, no way vibranium would cut it. Vibranium absorbs kinetic energy, a standard made adamantium sword wouldn't do anything. If you could somehow hone the adamantium sword down to an atomic edge, so that it's sliding between the vibranium molecules rather than hitting them, then maybe you could cut the vibranium.
The specific densities of both metals is unknown. Generally speaking Important Characters tend to beat unimportant, and Unique stuff beats Generic stuff.
So Wolverines Claws will beat Black Panthers suit, but Captain America's shield will beat wolverines Claws.
While Adamantium is denser, it can still succumb to extreme heat, while Vibranium's only true weakness is sonic waves and itself. By lacking easily accessible counters, Vibranium easily takes the crown as the stronger metal.
