I say "Lets-a-go Lexapro" in Mario's voice whenever I take it. It makes me feel that good!

This is literally my favorite thing, and I will be doing it all the time now. Thanks for taking something that is sometimes scary for me (taking meds) and making it fun :) Genuinely!
I was SO scared to start taking it too! I haven't had a lot of experience trying new meds, so I was very worried about what would happen. So much so that I almost didn't even start. But I've been on Lex for about one month now and it has been an overwhelmingly positive experience, so much so that I'm like "dang- wish I had tried this sooner!" I hope it goes well for you too + I'm really glad this Mario meme made you laugh!
Just started Lexapo on Saturday. Starting at 2.5 mg a day. It might be placebo but it has definitely calmed my anxiety!
yeaaa let's-a-go! That's awesome you're feeling better already! I felt the effects early on as well. It was so funny, end of Day 1 I distinctly remember thinking- "wait, I'm not ruminating about anything..." and my mind was calm. Before Lexapro, I could really only quiet my mind while exercising. But now I can actually focus, feel at ease, and my worries don't constantly consume me. Good luck on your journey, sounds like you are off to a great start!
Update. Things have taken a swing for the worse. I’m up to 5 mg now. Will keep updated as I continue this journey
love that
LOLLL
I hope it makes me feel that good too. Was on 5mg for month and have gone up to 10mg 6 dates ago. Currently anxiety going though the roof. May I ask how long you have been taking it for and what dose?
I'm on day 27 of 10mg today. I'm so sorry you're feeling increased anxiety on it, hopefully that is just temporary and will go away in another few days. It seems a lot of people have more anxiety at first, and then it levels off as their bodies adjust. I have definitely felt some anxiety here and there in triggering situations for me, but overall it has been working to ease my anxiety by a lot. And the anxiety I do feel is at a more manageable level. I hope you get to that place soon!
Thanks for your reply and support. I'm glad it's working well for you.
It just takes time to adjust, I originally had increased anxiety in the beginning, but I believe it just was my brain adjusting. I’ve been on lex 10-15mg for almost three years now. Whatever you do, do not just quit a few weeks in as it takes up to 7 weeks for it to fully work. Stick it out, it’s worth it. Also, quitting your quickly will only shock your brain more and it’s neurochemistry and may make depression/anxiety worse. Relief is closer than you think, I wish you luck.
Thanks for your words of wisdom and encouragement.
When you began...did you take anything for anxiety while the Lexapro settled in? If so, what and what strength?
Thanks for your words of wisdom and encouragement.
Lmao, this is great!
This is genuinely hilarious.
And once you “hear” it like that, it’s game over haha. Mario voice forever
I do this to! Both me and my girlfriend have started making this a running joke. Every time I act normal, or in any way not a depressed mess, one of us will yell "Lex-a-PRO!" In the Mario voice.
Hahaha oh my god 😆 I love that! and also that I’m not the only one who does the Mario voice
Does the loss of libido from lexapro negatively effect your libido?
I’m only 1 month in so I don’t know yet if some of the sexual side effects will be lasting or not.. I haven’t experienced decreased libido, but it is challenging to orgasm sometimes. But not impossible, so I’m trying to stay positive that it will get better over time.
