2022 Big Board
T1 All star
1) Paolo Banchero : 3 level scorer with playmaking ability. His unselfishness will allow him to become a key cog in his team offense (not just as a finisher, but as a passer too) and coexist with another star. He is a little slow though.
2) Jaden Ivey : Combo guard with the best first step in the draft. Could go to the rim pretty much at will but still needs to work on his 3pt range.
3) Chet Holmgren : good defense and can space the floor. Safe to get a good rôle player but his frame could limited him as a dominant scorer.
4) Jabari Smith : Probably the best shooter and number 1 pick this year. If things go right for him he can be an MPJ with better defense and no injuries and that’s a great player to have. However his handles aren’t the best and he has to take difficult jumpers giving him low 2PT efficiency.
T2 Good starter
5) Dyson Daniels : Tall playmaker who can defend, rebound and pass. He still need to improve a little his scoring and a lot his 3PT shooting to be a great all around guy.
6) Bennedict Mathurin : electric scorer who can drive to the rim, shoot or go to the line. Unlikely to be a first option at the next level but he has the tools to be a valuable 2 way wing.
7) Jalen Duren : One of the youngest guy this year and already one of the most impressive body. With his passing flashes, Duren screams potential. On the other hand, he is kinda slow so maybe he is just a rim runner who will struggle to switch on the perimeter.
8) Keegan Murray : 2 way forward. The oldest guy expected in the lottery. Did he dominate by being more physically mature or is he for real? Not sure, but he is worth a top 10 pick.
9) Shaedon Sharpe : Mystery player of this year. Athletic wing but his first step isn’t the best so he struggles against set defense. Choosing to sit all year at Kentucky is another red flag. He is a potential top player from this draft but GMs will have to see great things in private workout to spend a high pick on him.
10) TyTy Washington : Good passer with average shooting and defense. Pretty old for a freshman and not amazing at anything so won’t be a star but his well rounded game could make him a starter.
T3 Low end starter/ good bench
11) AJ Griffin : Shooting specialist with a good frame. His 3pt form is a little weird. He often has his feet really spread to help his balance but make him slower to set up his release. I’m curious to see how that will translate in the NBA.
12) Tari Eason : Right now he fouls too much, has too much turnovers, the shoot is work in progress and has an on-and-off motor. However he is a fluid athlete with the size and length to be a 2 way forward. His passing and defense are OK. Boom or bust kind of guy.
13) Jalen Williams : late riser with his combine showing. 21 yo but he is a do-it-all wing with great length so he should be useful for the team drafting him.
14) Jeremy Sochan : great defensive PF, can switch on bigger and smaller players. Problem is on the other side of the floor where he struggles to score and shoot. His passing is OK though.
15) Mark Williams : big and powerful center who moves pretty well for his size. Not enough skill to be more than rim runner yet but guys like him can still be valuable asset for their team if his defense translates to the NBA.
16) Malaki Branham : very young, long wingspan at 6’10, good indicators as shooter (83 FT%; 42 3PT%). He has the tools to become a 2 way wing if things pan out.
17) Johnny Davis : defensive wing who did a lot on offense but not really efficient. I don’t see a star and he needs to improve his shooting to be a 3&D SG.
18) Ousmane Dieng : young guy with bad stats but he improved through this season. Boom or bust prospect. Will have to show in workouts if his improvements are for real or if he doesn’t deserve a lottery pick.
19) Ochai Agbaji : 22 yo with a good all around game, march madness winner. I could see him as a role player for many years but 6’6 role players are plenty in any draft, so I’m not sure if he is worth a lottery pick even if he is a good player.
20) Trevor Keels : very young player, starter for Duke. He wasn’t very productive but played good defense and didn’t make many mistakes (not many turnovers and fouls). He is a player I like who can end-up way better than people expect. Could also turn into a bust because he hasn’t a great wingspan for his size and isn’t in great shape.
T4 Bench
21) Walker Kessler : Center with great blocks numbers. He could become a good role player but his archetype (rim runner) isn’t one worth spending too much assets (high pick/cap space) for teams.
22) Jaden Hardy : Same as Ousmane Dieng, his overall year wasn’t a success but he showed flashes of a good player. Needs to work hard :) on his shooting and turnover to not be a bust.
23) Wendell Moore : could do a little of everything, shooting, passing, defense, rebound. He should be a good bench guy. Jack of all trades and master of none, and close to 21 yo so it’s harder to see him starter but still possible.
24) MarJon Beauchamp : Strong defensive wing but not a 3PT shooter. He will need to fix that to be a valuable starter.
25) E.J. Liddell : old undersized PF with a strong frame who can bring some playmaking and defense. He gets Draymond Green or Grant Williams comparison but I don’t see the same intangible (leadership, BBIQ).
26) Christian Braun : 3&D wing who played a good 2 men game with his teammate Agbaji. He could be a useful role player but I don’t expect to be more than that.
27) Nikola Jović : young euro stretch 4. He can shoot from 3 and pass a little but not much else for now. He is only 19 so he can improve but not being good enough for the league is also a possibility.
28) Kendall Brown : Sochan teammate. Another smooth defensive PF who can handle the ball a little but not as good on defense and he almost never shoots from 3.
29) Kennedy Chandler : it’s hard for undersized PG to stay in the league, specially if they are not good shooter and 61 FT% doesn’t bode well for that. On the bright side he is good on defense, good passer and despite his low FT%, his 3PT% and attempt numbers were OK.
30) Patrick Baldwin Jr. : top recruit with a disappointing year. His shooting % were awful (41,8 2PT%; 26,6 3PT%) and he had a bad combine too. A team will draft him and hopes he turn as he was previously expected to be (tall, long, good shooter) but it’s very unlikely.

I love the depth and explanations! Just with the tiers I have a few problems. With the 1st tier, I see a large gap between Jaden Ivey and the rest of the tier. Ivey still is the 4th best prospect.
Also I can understand TyTy being 10th just based off teams needing a player like his playstyle but I don't agree with his being better than half of the next tier. Lastly Dieng being 18th I disagree with. I have him 10th so I could be wildly off haha. But otherwise I love the list!
I remember seeing Ivey play with Chet in team USA before this season and thinking he was as good as him. Then Ivey climbed the mocks draft up to 4 and I choose to follow my feeling and put him with the top 3.
Tyty wasn’t always the PG and couldn’t show all he can do imo. I guess I kinda give him a better grade for being a Kentucky guard.
I change my mind on young guys with high ceiling and low floor like Dieng a lot. Some days I will have him closer to 10 and some days to 20. It wasn’t a good day for him when I made this board but I could definitively see him as a top 10 player.
