So I recorded my stats to get an idea of which specialist I should play more and which one are hurting myself and I have to stop (or rethink my gameplay). I play both 1v1 and 2v2. I though not recording 2v2 at first because there are 2 others guys who have a say on who will win but honestly, it seems that losing my matchup and winning the game or the opposite, doesn’t happen often so I keep them.

So without further ado, The winner of the best Specialist in the Mechabellum category is…>! Elite!<.

With a 100 % winrate. I start with only writting my stats and add the oponent stats latter so I played her once in my last 79 games and

TIER 1
1) Cooper Flagg
I have him T1 with 3 others players but he is easily ahead, just didn’t want to make too many tiers. MVP potential.

2) Dylan Harper
Ron Harper’s son, big PG who can defend and has the ability to drive past defenders. Needs to improve his shot, but his pedigree, size and athleticism give him both a high ceiling and a solid floor.

3) Jeremiah Fears
Explosive PG with potential as a shooter (85 FT%). Too skinny to be good on D but his speed and scoring ability make him the most interesting prospect after the big 2 imo.

4) Tre Johnson
Weird prospect. 40% from 3 and 45% from 2. What? That needs to be fix. Good 1v1 defense but overall poor def

Recently devs put a feedback form on the discord. I was curious about what people want for the future in this game. For me it was having the ability to come back directly to the replay after trying to re-do a round and adding a 2v2 map where we can deploy in the same zone with our teammate. So what’s your feedback ?

Automated Control Groups
https://www.playbattleaces.com/news/state-of-the-game-july-2024
Most of the Dev Blog are about things already known. The new thing is the Automated Control Groups that we will get in the next beta:”It will be an option players can turn on, everything you build will automatically go into control group 1, so you only have to go back and grab the units that wont be a part of your “main control group” to assign them manually”.
I used the all units selection key (also put it at “1”) but when I had a group of hornets protecting my workers line, a hornet watching over some paths and some scorpions doing a runby they would all came back in the middle of the map in the

Balance : Overall pretty good. We can see that the top players aren’t all playing the same deck for now. Even things we don’t see like using 2 T2 and 4 T3 in your deck, I play it with some success. There are more to explore next beta but for now I have a few problems I would like to be changed. The free units are bad by design. I come from a card game background (I’ve watched SC2 for years and played the campaign of a lot of RTS but for multiplayer I played, before Battle Aces, something like one AOE 2 and five SC2 games VS humans) so I’m use to have bad cards. But first: there isn’t as many units to choose in BA than cards in a cards game, 2^(nd): it’s really not a good thing

Draft with a generational talent at the top, not much star power after that but a ton of great role players (mostly wings). I didn’t write explanation for my last Tiers but basically it’s either they are old or have a low 2PT % which I don’t like or they don’t project as shooters.

T1 All star

1) Vic Wembanyama : People say he is good.

2) Scoot Henderson : A little disappointed to not improve enough in his 2nd year and by his shooting but he is too good with the ball in his hands to not become a star.

3) Brandon Miller : Great size and shooting with some defense and playmaking. Unfotunately he isn’t reliable to carry his team. So he has star upsides but he isn’t here

T1 All star

1) Paolo Banchero : 3 level scorer with playmaking ability. His unselfishness will allow him to become a key cog in his team offense (not just as a finisher, but as a passer too) and coexist with another star. He is a little slow though.

2) Jaden Ivey : Combo guard with the best first step in the draft. Could go to the rim pretty much at will but still needs to work on his 3pt range.

3) Chet Holmgren : good defense and can space the floor. Safe to get a good rôle player but his frame could limited him as a dominant scorer.

4) Jabari Smith : Probably the best shooter and number 1 pick this year. If things go right for him he can be an MPJ with better def

Few things before starting : It’s a big board so it’s about who I think will be the best, not where I think they will get drafted.

I have not ranked guys I haven’t seen like Bleijenbergh, Bégarin or Jokubaitis. Some players I have seen aren’t there cause they are not really inspiring (Livers, Gray, Preston…)

Favorite players : Jalen Green, Sharife Cooper, Greg Brown

I see this draft as most people. There is a strong top 4. After that, it's pretty flat with possibilities to find contributors even in the 2nd round.

  • T1 Key Players
  • 1) Cade Cunningham : What do you want ? Someone who can score to carry your team ? Who can shoot ? It’s a team game he needs to pass, right ?
