Gardening on a Budget: CFL Light Fixtures
I appreciate all those who gave me ideas the other day on my light reflection post, thank you. Today I used some of those ideas to redesign my CFL light setup.
This takes NO TOOLS to build and at this point it consists of:
x3 AC Power to Light Socket Adapter
x3 Light Socket Extensions w/AC Power Plug on Each Side Get the one without the pull chain though, it's only $2.50. Couldn't find the link.
x6 26w CFL 6500k Lights
x6 Hoods Made From Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil
Some Duct Tape to Hold the Hoods on
x1 8ft Cower Cord
This can be built for about $35 give or take depending on where you buy the parts. The CFLs being almost half that. The biggest benefit to me is it requires no tools to make it. I don't own a drill or saw.
I'm thinking about adding 2 more Light Socket to AC power adapters with 2 more lights on each side of the power cord. I just didn't have the parts on me. Again thanks for your suggestions, they really help.
Feel free to post your cheap CFL solutions please, I love new ideas.
