The thing that grows in the dark
in the depths of disappointment
in the gusts of grief
In the rains of hurt,
(when the skies ferment and the atmosphere growls and the air crackles and the world keeps turning but
all you want is for it to shake and convulse and writhe and absolutely thrash around and
utterly annihilate itself
or even just stop abruptly and throw everyone off into a cold frozen death
but the world just keeps turning)
there is a seed discreetly sowed; carried in by the gusts and the rains
and the shadows.
that rides in on the fingers that grasp at the cloak of the sun
and when the sun looks back
it shrinks away
and it drops a piece of itself and keeps chasing the sun.
but the sun cannot look behind it forever, and so it turns ahead and continues and behind it, it casts a shadow
And this is where the seed grows in the shadow of the sun hiding
growing in the depths of everything that the sun is not saying, no no
No. Definitely not.
terrible horrible ugly disgusting worthless a bother a bother a huge bother disgusting disgusting appalling she deleted your photos your videos your conversations

the seed says things like that
as its master chases the sun, grasping at its cloak shrinking away and dropping little pieces of itself
When the sun starts to turn
