Just got the first step in diagnosis done but don't feel good about it....

Seeking Empathy / Support

Posting this is also helping me assess my thoughts so please let me know your experiences and what you think.

So this was just what seemed like just to get an idea. And it also seems this is going to be a longer process than I thought it was going to be. I feel like there was such a big misunderstanding on how I actually felt, thought, and was experiencing. Like how I had to fill out this form before the appointment and seemed as though they never even saw it and my mom seemed to not quite understand or say quite the right things, such as like how my grades have been great when they've been absolutely terrible except this semester because the teachers seemed to somewhat understand me. Also how I was an introvert when I'm actually completely opposite. They'd never even mentioned any symptoms. They'd try to bring it down to just anxiety when that is a part ADHD. Either she just doesn't remember or didn't realize that this has gone on my entire life. I wish more was accomplished today. I am seeing someone tomorrow who specializes in ADHD and hope that goes well and can actually communicate instead of just listening to what is false. I am 1000% sure it's ADHD, I have every symptom you could think of and it just seems so obvious and explains absolutely everything that has ever happened. Hopefully things go better tomorrow.

Things will go so much better with the specialist trust me. I went to someone who barely knew about adhd and then I went to a specialist. it was two completely different experiences. The non specialist tried to tell me it was anxiety and depression and maybe adhd. The specialist made me feel so comfortable. All I had to do was be myself. When she asked her questions I ended up over explaining everything like I normally would. Try to think of specific examples from your life that relates to the questions they ask you

I hope you get you diagnosis! And if you don’t, keep trying. Like you said you know you have ADHD. I literally felt it in my soul my whole life but I never knew the words for it.

I've never felt support like this ever before. It feels weird and yet so good I guess I received some dopamine.

This made me feel so much happier. You have no idea. Like I have happy tears.

Like Ive gone over thousands of things to say and every single one I over explain. I think the hardest part is going to be being my self but you've just helped me so much.
