So 2x AP to buy things to use abroad becuase they lost your luggages.
Also comes with a 15% off base fare (cash only) coupon code if you book before Aug 17th
It appears to be 3x AP in TOTAL.
For avoidance of doubt, the bonus points awarded pursuant to this Offer during the Offer Period will be in addition to Aeroplan points earned on qualifying purchases under the standard base earn rate as set out in the Aeroplan Terms and Conditions for the Eligible Account.
Where did you find the offer? Is it targeted?
Thanks. Worked for me. Even though I didn't get the original email.
Not working for me.. Getting the error: Looks like this page has flown away.
Does anyone else have a link?
Edit: didn’t work on iPhone Reddit app but worked on laptop, thanks!
I think it is targeted. It comes to your email and once you click the link it automatically registers your card
Correct, I got a targeted email
Even accounting for FX fee, is this a good deal
2AP at 2cpp = 4% - 2.5% FX fee = 1.5% return via AP.

It’s actually 3AP(everything)/3.5AP (gas, groceries) @ 2cpp. 2AP points is on TOP of regular earn rate. Looks like HSBC WE MC would still be ahead, at least on travel purchases.
Your math is wrong.
$100 x 1.025%=102.5*3 AP=307.5AP 307.5AP at 2cpp=$615 in redemption value $615-$2.5=$612.5 in value, the return is 6.125cpp. Edit: corrected multiplier
This is clearer.
$100 Generic FX Purchase
HSBC (3 points per dollar or 0.75 cents per point)
This TD Offer (minimum 3 points per dollar)
Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think the math is:
3AP at 2cpp = 6% - 3.5% (2.5% fee from TD + 1% base visa spread which is around 0.5-1, use 1% for simplicity) = 2.5% return
Sounds about right. The categories multipliers would add to that.
What is better: HSBC WE MC with no FX and minimum of 1.5% on everything and 3% on travel, or this offer?
Depends how you value your AP points, but in general it's better for everything but travel where HSBC's 3% will come ahead.
Does this include purchases made online charged in USD?
Damn. I have a week long US trip coming up in mid September. Gonna miss this opportunity.
Can you prepay some of these?
That is actually a good point. I might just do that
Does anyone know if the APVI Gas & Groceries 1.5AP per $1 works in the US? Possible that this offer stacks?
Is it possible to buy USD then convert it back to CAD after? Basically paying the fees just to get points?
No. That would involve a cash advance which comes with an additional fee and doesn't earn points.
Great timing for my big USA trip in August. Thanks, OP.
If you read the terms and condition on the site it says “Please allow up to 68 weeks after the Offer Period ends for the bonus points earned under this Offer to appear in your Aeroplan points account.” That has to be a typo right?
I’m assuming it’s meant to say 6-8
Lol I hope so.
