AD20.5 Lock Issues - used, not abused… anyone have the same issue? Thoughts on how to fix?

I’d disassemble it and see if the spring in the lock is ok.
YES!
Mine has the EXACT same issue. I have the full Ti version from knifecenter. I think that's just how the locks are?
Yeah, this is from the same run, 3V exclusive (just grivory, not Ti)… it won’t close unintentionally so I’m not too worried about it, but it doesn’t inspire confidence or live up to the “strongest lock” hype… I thought that too, but someone linked a video where Demko took it in for warranty, so I gotta think this isn’t how it’s supposed to be. I’ll mess around, will update if I find an easy fix
I have six AD20.5s in different steels (original AUS10A, D2, 3V) and none of mine do that. I’d contact Demko.
BTW, this knife is pretty simple to disassemble as long as you have T-6 and T-8 Torx bits. Just be careful when you take the liners off since the spring will want to go flying. That might be worth trying before sending it for repair/replacement.
Sounds good! I’m thinking on disassembling anyways to put on new scales, I’ll mess around with the mechanism exposed (and springless) to see what I can do…
I had a similar issue, sent demkos an email and they took care of me. Excellent customer service from those guys
Good to know! Might give it a go myself first, glad they stand behind the product!
I have the d2 version and the lock is solid. On the very inside 3nd of the blade there is a very small nub that sticks up on mine. I'm wondering if that might be worn down or worn off.
I know that nub you’re talking about, had the exact same thoughts… my guess is that as it wears down it’ll create play, but haven’t had the chance to take it apart and verify.
Idk, cool knife and I’m not afraid to abuse the 3V, but we’ll see how well it holds up over time…
I'm willing to bet there's too much oil on the lock face. Disassemble and clean. Oil sparingly.
Thanks! Will try…
