Warped Vinyl siding

What's going on here? This is my GF's house in Austin, TX. 2 weeks ago this was fine, now this.

The siding has been up for an indeterminate number of years. It was painted about 2.5 years ago. The rest of the siding on the house is fine. Is this sun/heat damage? There had been a tree in front of the house, but most of it was cut down after the freeze last winter.

Am I right to assume that this is heat damage, or can something else cause this kind of damage?

Is it repairable, or must it be replaced? What would something like that cost?

I do not live in Austin, so I can't go look at it myself. Also, I have never lived in a home with siding of any kind, so I'm a bit out of my depth.

Any insight helps, Thanks.

Saw a post here recently about a skylight reflection causing damage like this. Are there any nearby windows or reflections / parked vehicles, that put light across this area? It does look like excessive heat.

Here’s the link to the other post.
