Fiscally conservative can also mean spending less on police and military, it's a too generalizing term
It means avoiding deficit spending, not necessarily cutting govt. programs .
Exactly, not necessarily, which is why the term is too broad
it's a too generalizing term
Unfortunately, the generalisation and demonisation of broad and varied political beliefs seems to be an increasingly common trend online (the hate against centrism comes to mind)
However, the common thread appears to be right-wing shitheads co-opting these terms ('centrist', 'fiscally conservative') in order to distract from the fact that they're right-wing shitheads.
Yes but I think it's important to single out and criticise those specific groups of people who co-opt them rather than generalising the terms and helping polarise the political and social landscape
Yup, sadly
wanting to defund cops isnt about saving money tho, and those dimwits never wanna cut spending on police anyway. its always a smokescreen for "lets drain social security, use it to buy racehorses from my cousin, make it all back tenfold, and keep doing it until the public debt is gone." like its always people with the most harebrained understanding of how anything works

Fiscally conservative doesn't mean what you think it means
Fiscally conservative but socially liar.
When I’m in a having zero empathy competition and my opponent is an r\memes user: https://www.reddit.com/r/ memes/comments/vyqgcp/i_missed_it/
Fiscaly conservative means avoiding deficit spending, which can be done in a myriad ways with a milion different combination of policies. This post is just plain dumb.
The meme isn’t dumb because it’s about people who claim to be “fiscally conservative” not the term and it’s actual political implications
(That was my interpretation anyway, I could be wrong no disrespect either way 😅)
i remember when people used to call themselves this because they wanted to sound conservative but not evil and just being like "how is that not evil tho?"
and then they said id understand it when i got a real job. but ive been working for years and every day i hate those fuckers even more
Fiscal conservatives proceeding to not give a fuck about welfare programs and disregard low-income communities and still calling themselves socially liberal.
Jesus I cannot believe how many people in the comments are defending these shitgoblins.
Right wingers in general, somehow it always comes down to a lack of empathy

I would change my opinions on the spot if I were payed to. (i am shallow as fuck)
Don’t hate on me because I want our military to have less money and use that money for things that will actually help people.
I’d lose that contest in an instant.
socially liberal- just want to kill poor people and put them in the meat grinder

Argued with one of these fuckers once and they said "I have no empathy for people who make bad choices"
Oh yea of course, people just choose homelessness, great one, you solved it all, just don't be homeless. Have a fucking heart you selfish piece of shit
"people don't deserve shelter because they didn't make every decision in their lives perfectly"
It's not technically eugenics if it's happening because of economics!
Euconomics
Reagenics
Even then a freak accident could knock most people to poverty in no time without social safety nets in place to help them.
"No handouts, it was your decision to get cancer and go into huge medical debt, I only have empathy for people that make good decisions, I am smart and this ideology is the best we've got"
Not even freak accidents, just accidents. "Oh you hurt your arm and need a soft cast for a couple of weeks? You can't work as effectively, we're going to have to let you go. Oh you work paycheque to paycheque? That's not my problem is it."
“Damn they didn’t have the foresight to be born into a rich family? Skill issue”
Why don’t homeless people just ask their parents to buy them a house? I mean it’s that simple.
Remember kids, 40% of homeless are disabled
