Addicted to Nostalgia.
This nostalgia’s like crack -
A straight emotional attack,
As it forces me down the back track.
.
Like a bee to nectar, I’m attracted.
Don’t know how it happened -
I was once so placid.
Now, when I walk by this paths entrance,
I just can’t pass it.
.
A path littered with roses and daisies
That smell of your perfume - amazing.
As my nostrils consume their scent,
The memories start blazing.
.
They fill my perspective, a hundred percent.
They’re so bright they blind me,
To the point I may as well be crazy.
So what’s a crack in this path,
When these sun rays are bleeding?
.
As these remnants of wrath melt -
Filling the torn concrete -
I follow wherever this light leads me.
.
There was originally one more stanza, and the second and very last ones were structured a bit differently. I’ll leave the original ending and original structuring here, I’d be interested to hear thoughts on them.
They fill my perspective, by a hundred percent.
They’re so bright they blind me,
To the point I may aswell be crazy.
.
So what’s a crack in this path,
When these sun rays are bleeding?
As these remnants of wrath melt -
Filling the torn concrete -
I follow wherever this light leads me.
.
Yet, I can’t help but ask myself,
‘If I told you love is what I felt,
Would you believe me?’
