i need a name for one of my protagonists

:nerd: Character/Fictional Names

i’m writing, or at least planning to write, a novel involving a few high school kids in the early 2000’s. the boy i’m trying to rename is the one meant to fit the “nerd” trope; asocial, wears glasses, likes reading, etc.

his full name at the moment is beauden earnest affelberg. i like the surname, but the first and middle name feel very off to me... beauden feels like a quirky, frat boy kinda name, and earnest was just a fancy filler name i threw in. i was thinking of renaming him to beau, but it feels incomplete and doesn’t give off the same vibe beauden does.

so, i need your help choosing two new names for this boy. the first name shouldn’t sound too harsh and must start with the letter b. the second one can be whatever fits best, but preferrably serious-sounding and starting with an f. bonus points if at least one of them is german, the surname will still be affelberg.

if a physical description helps, this character is light-skinned, has a brunette mop-top, brown eyes, freckles, glasses, his color palette is mostly blue and black, and his clothing style is semi-formal.

Think of what the parents would name their kid, are they rich and or extremely formal and traditional. Or are they parents living in a simple town with a simple life.

What would they want for their child in a name.

Some names with B:

Benjamin (Ben)

Brian

Albert (Bert/Bertie)

Bowie

I hope these help or give inspiration!

Where does the story take place? Geography/region would likely influence name selection—even if it’s what NOT to name him.

the story takes place in the united states at the moment, not really sure which state. this family is at least half-german though.
