You need to heal lol, go get vigor rn!

Potion isnt a real way to heal, and you really need to use 2 bar, if you dont want, you have to let go offensive skill, vigor and coag will still make it hard to survive.

Eso isnt like most mmo, it doesnt have cd, you have to adapt amd react, if you dont heal when pressure, you will die.

Also, your stam pool was still good, dodge roll, its provide a lot of mitigation

Seconding this. I cannot possibly sing the praises of Vigor loud enough.

LadyJohannaThree Alliances•

I mostly PvE but will absolutely do Cyro for Vigor on my stam & tank chars. You only need to do the intro Cyro quests to unlock it, and then you can level it up in PvE very easily.

Amazing heal. The end.

To be honest I don’t know how you watch this and say “fine one moment and shredded the next”

You were killed very slowly over 30 seconds. Scrub through the video and watch your health bar

Came here to say this, glad I wasn't the only one who thought this.

RhyffWood Elf :woodelf:•

Yeah I was like "surely he's going to heal up and then get nuked?". But nope, just ticked down slowly lol

14
vek134•

Op is clearly new to eso, its can be confusing since in most other mmo, timing the use your heal is important, but in eso, you can use it at anytime.

And he also use a one bar no oakensoul build, and the skills selection is not defensive enough

6
MrTiblesEbonheart Pact :ebonheart:•

You really didn't put up much of a fight, you died with almost a full stamina bar. You could have used that stam to mitigate a lot of damage with rolling and blocking (keep in mind that if you slot vigor you will deplete that bar faster, but you will actually have a HoT instead of having to slam coags.) Also, you would have survived longer if you kited around the pillars behind the flag rather than that tiny tree.

mag sustain issues

run jewels of misrule (gives 5k hp 400 mag and stam recov), put a lil less points into health too imo

youre right, forgot to factor my cp slots

Bewitched sugar skulls or crown meals are the best to run for under level 50.

5
LadyJohannaThree Alliances•

The Crown stuff you get for login rewards is really good if you need to mind all 3 stats. I let mine pile up in the bank for when I wanna tank or PvP or solo a WB or whatever situation where you're not going to rely on just your primary resource pool.

1
FinnAgain88•

To be specific, it looks like the Templar at the end hit ya with purifying light… it’s a burst after a few seconds that can do big damage if properly executed.

14
duck_n_rollz•

yah it's confused me a ton of times bc im still new to pvp ill be sustaining really well than shredded and im like🤨 but than i check the incoming damage and see that and i'm like ohhh ok lmao

3
Hexent_Armana•

My guess is that its either sustain or you got healing reductions stacked on you.

IMO the problem with Dragon Knights mains is that they rely too heavily on that super strong heal they got. In pvp I exploit that by stacking healing reductions. They fold pretty quickly when you take away that heal.

10
vek134•

What healing reduction ???? Major and minor defile? Those are a joke now, a 24% reduction from base healing, while only having a draconic abiility up gave you 12% he could use a few heavy armor, or frage shield, malubeth...... the high tooltip of coag dont take vitality into account or any "healing received" bonus.

If you know how calcation in eso work, you know how little defile does, if you have a 10k tooltip, you arent reducing it by 2400, because all % are calcualted from the base number, when someone spam 20k coag 4 time in a row you reduce it to about 18k, you arent takin any noticiable healing, its just a nice to have debuff....far from the good old day, were you could actually get to like 70%+ and really hurt someone heals

Just look at all the buff and bonus you can get for healing(vitality, mending, class passive, armor passive, powered trait, set bonuses, cp and more) while you have like maj and minor defile, and soldier of anguish, which suck....

1
Hexent_Armana•

I'm at work so I can't look it up but I think there's about 4 different healing reductions that can be stacked. Minor and Major Defile of course but there's also some sets and/or abilities that apply unique debuffs that reduce healing received by a flat amount. There may be more than 4 for all I know. Like I said, I'm at work and can't look them up.

However this clip seems to be of a battleground. I really only play Cyrodil which already has a strong healing reduction applied on top of the 4 I usually use so perhaps thats not the reason for the death in this clip.

2
comradeswitchDaggerfall Covenant :daggerfall:•

Bgs (and duels, IC) have the same battle spirit debuff on healing.

6
vek134•

Soldier of anguish is the only set that come to my mind and its pretty bad, fassalla use to be a unique debuff but its now minor defile.

And with cp there no way to increase defile potency which is a shame, when i can slot 4 healing cp, wd/sd increase healing, rss increased healing, crit increase healing, there just too many way.

Im still curious about that 4th way tho

3
Hexent_Armana•

If I remember I'll try to find it after work.

You are using your spikes to much. It only needs to be reapplied when the timer runs out. You also aren’t putting pressure on and are just taking pressure. Movement needs work to work outside of enemy line of sight. Best practice is to walk through enemies and turn around quickly. Also missing a heal still like vigor. DK is a very DoT heavy and pressure play style

It would allow us to offer better help if you provided more information such as race, sets, attributes, mundus stone, food, etc. Anyway, I'm gonna assume you're using Oakensoul since you didn't barswap once in that clip. Firstly, your skill setup is not optimal as an Oakensoul DK. Before I speak on that, I also want to mention that you should be using dual wield weapons instead of two-handed as it provides better damage and healing.

Now that's out of the way, let's look into your current skill setup:

  1. Flame Lash: This is fine as you need a spammable.
  2. Executioner: This is not needed since Oakensoul already provides such high damage that you don't need an execute. You could switch this out for Fiery Breath to apply DoTs on multiple targets which will also help with sustain.
  3. Coagulating Blood: The burst heal for this is too good to pass up. Keep this.
  4. Igneous Weapons: I do understand you're using this to take advantage of the Mountain's Blessing passive which provides Minor Brutality after casting an Earthen Heart ability. However, you're wasting a slot as there are other Earthen Heart abilities which can proc the passive as well as offer better utility. You could either swap this out for Petrify or Ash Cloud. If you do opt for Ash Cloud, I suggest having one infused jewelry with the reduce magicka cost enchantment.
  5. Spiked Armor: You already get Major Resolve from Oakensoul. You should swap this out for Vigor.
  6. Take Flight: This is fine, but you could use Magma Armor if you want to switch things up.
3
8ColoredRainbow•

I don't think he's using oakensoul since this is under50 BG, so the first thing OP needs to do is set up 2nd bar as buff/heal bar and get used to bar swap+heal/buff in fights.

7
An_Asian_Throwaway•

Holy daedra! You're right! Damn, this is why more information would have allowed us to provide better help.

OP, are you not barswapping because you haven't hit level 15 yet?

9
DyCol6OP•

Im not barswapping cause I suck. Im working on it but even one bar is kind of a lot. Rn I have a full front bar and two buffs on my back bar. I’ll work up from there but atm thats the limit of my abilities.

6
EggdrippEbonheart Pact :ebonheart:•

There are some skills that you just slot to your character and give passive buffs without having to be activated, you could put a few of those in your build as well because you won't use them anyways.

This clip imo is definitely better than the first one I saw, glad to see you're sticking with it and obviously doing your best to take feedback and improve :)

Here’s a drill to try on some open world mobs or maybe in a dungeon or something, a cycle-all rotation, just so you can get used to re applying buffs and such. We do 1 through 5 with LA weave in between, then do an LA > barswap, then repeat the process on bar 2 until you are comfortable with your swap weave. Make sure your backbar timers are up in the settings. Next step is to understand your buff times, I think the easy way is to figure out how many attack rotation fit between each buff and heal cycle, like you can usually fit maybe 4 attacks while vigor is up or X amount of attacks/heals while your resolve is up. These are the approximate lengths of times you have until you need to recast the buffs for 100% uptime. Eventually you’ll get to a point where you only revisit the bar to recast when your buffs are ticked all the way down to like 1 for the most resource sustain. It’ll be easy enough that you can apply pressure while doing this. If you’ve ever played an instrument it’s like practicing scales. The more your buffs are up in combat the more you survive.

2
bginter2•

You have so many issues idk where to start. You need to pick a primary stat, either mag or stam. You can use 1 skill from the other pool if you are 1 bar. If you are playing 1 bar, you need oakensoul ring.

For flame lash, you really should be running burning talons and fossilize.

3
SmokyMcpot527•

You forgot to heal yourself.

2
achilles5788Daggerfall Covenant :daggerfall: PS/NA•

What you did right:

  • Staying mobile.
  • Keeping basic buffs up.
  • Reasonable use of line of sight (tree).
  • Sticking around despite disadvantage to delay the capture of your flag is sometimes a good call. Hard to tell in a clip.

Things you could improve:

  • Facing your back to the enemy. There is a popular skill that grants minor berserk for a very short duration when hitting from flank. It would’ve had a high uptime on you running away. Aside from that, it is very emboldening to another player when you turn your back and run. They will often go full aggression. I feint flee sometimes to burst people when they let their HoTs fall off. Backpedal and dodge rolling help.
  • You were taking more damage than you were healing. Looks like you were relying heavily on the burst heal and claw for healing. With enough pressure this can do, but you were applying little pressure on the back foot, so it was just overwhelming. Consider slotting a strong heal over time for this reason (vigor or rapid regen). Sometimes you have to outheal the damage to survive. You could also slot a cheap ultimate like life giver (resto) or dragon leap (shield version) for defensive play.
  • You were outnumbered. If I played 1 of me versus 2 of me, the 2 of me would beat the 1 of me every time. Sometimes people synergize by sharing heals and essentially get double heals, so they can be attacking twice as hard. Numbers matter. 1vX videos are a mixture of part skill, and part going to the local preschool to fight the 5 year olds in bulk. Respect the numbers. Find your team.
  • You may notice you have a ton of stamina a available. It’s good to reserve some so that you can break stuns, but reserving it all is a waste. Blocking and backpedaling could give a teammate time to arrive or to charge your ultimate a few more clicks. Assuming I was matched, I would’ve dodge rolled toward the stairs and used the dividers to line of sight the enemies. Another dodge roll to the next LoS closest to my team. Regroup and change the tides. Nothing wrong with regrouping in a group game. Heck, even getting close to another enemy team would help if you could lose them scuffling with each other.
  • While the other factors may have stopped you from having a choice, ideally you heal up to full before you get into execute range. Once your health gets around 60%, you will be seen as a victim and embolden the enemy. Below 50% some executes start scaling. Pretend 50% is 0%.
2
DyCol6OP•

Part of it was not getting on that tree bit sooner, I know some of it had to do with losing my target after the stun, but there had to be more to it than that.

I don't pvp cause I panic pretty quickly and get overly excited to the point that I fuck up a lot... plus i don't follow much of the mechanics since i play for fun or for giggles. For you it looks like those dots kicked in and you just gave up hope in a way at some point, keep at it though. Pvp can be a little disheartening for most, practice makes perfect.

You did pretty good honestly just get a Stam heal too!

Get vigor from either the assault or support line (don’t remember which one) but honestly that was pretty much it. You did well other than that.

Edit: also know that you can block and cast heals and damage skills at the same time.

Maybe a sustain issue? Looks like you ran out of Maj and couldn't heal? Aso, you had a chance to back off and regroup, rather then run away? I've found that I always get rushed and wrecked when I turn and run.
